Encouragement For The Week

As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for either you or your family.
Don't dwell on your failures, but think about your successes.

  1. Distractions are such a part of modern life, but I love the comment on not dwelling on our failures. Its okay to start again and again as needed in order to minimize the distractions and get to the good stuff. Can I share something wonderful that really blessed my family this year? On anyone's birthday we (all the other family members) wrote down the 10 things we love about the birthday person. I took cardstock and just glued a 1.5 inch piece of colorful paper down one side, to dress it up. Then I had everyone write their thoughts and I put them in top loaders to give to the birthday person for their gift. It has brought such great feelings into our home and truly made the birthday person feel loved. Its tangible, which I like instead of digital which is part of the distractions in our lives. Then I just stick them in their memory books and they can look at them whenever they need a reminder of how much their family loves them.

  2. I needed this reminder, thank you. I have a little book of her quotes--there is so much wisdom there! I need to read through it again.
