Ordinary Days

I haven't had my camera out much lately but here's a few photos I've found that make me smile.
Curls!!!  Oh, how fun.

A clean kitchen. For this one minute.

A foggy beautiful morning.

My pumpkin.

Seriously!
(If you want to know what these are and how to make them go here.)

Homework time.

Our spooky front door.

I told him he can practice his recorder outside or in his closet with the door closed.  We ALL told him that.

More homework.

Baby barricades.

  2. I literally said, "ooooh," out loud when I saw that first pic of her sweet curls. My almost two year old desperately needs a hair cut, but I just can't do it!

  7. Oh my lord! I burst out laughing when I saw the recorder picture. After sitting through my two sitting opposite each other (my oldst with her real recorder, my toddler with his toy one) screeching like strangled cats, I mean practising, my daughter has been banished to the conservatory for recorder practice!!! Oh, and thos sweet curls and the pumpkin picture...precious!

  8. My son is doing 7th grade band this year and chose the trumpet. Oh my ears! Be grateful it's just a recorder!!

  9. This might be a silly question, but I can NEVER keep my floors clean! Not just "picked up" from all the kids stuff laying around, but swept and mopped! Your floors are always so shiny! How often do you mop your floors?

    1. Hi Tara-My floors get SO messy too, especially with Janey dropping her food over the side of her high chair. I try to sweep once a day and mop often (sometimes every other day, sometimes time gets away from me and that doesn't happen-usually Sunday nights or Monday mornings, after the weekend is when it needs it the most). I just use water on a mop-the kind with a reusuable towel like mop-head or I use cut up towel rags that I wring out in the sink. And remember...I am even fascinate by how clean my floors look in these photos-they sure don't in real life! :)

  10. Love the pics. I know all about the Rainbow loom craze. I am constantly picking up those little bands from all over the house.

  11. I haven't commented much lately because life has been so crazy here but must say I enjoyed these pictures. Janey is beautiful and more so by the day - and I would die for that clean kitchen, I just love how user-friendly your kitchen is. Mine might be bigger but it isn't 1/10th as nice as yours. And I'm stealing that ghost over the front porch light idea!!!

My kids are crazy about the Rainbow loom too - I bought it for them after seeing your post last summer! Now it's all over school.

    1. Yes...just cheap sheets, cut a small hole in the corner of one to fit over top of light and used string to tie the corners up and tacks to keep them there.

  24. We just got on the Rainbow Loom last month and our house is already overflowing with bracelets! If you're looking to rehome any of yours, we're currently making and collecting them for an Amigos for Christ mission trip to Nicaragua next month.

  25. Man, you were NOT kidding about the Rainbow Loom. It's taken over here now.

  26. Favorite photo? It's a toss up between the toddler curls (oh how I remember those!) and the banished recorder boy (hilarious!!!). Loved looking at all the fun and sweet moments happening around your home, Sarah. As always! :)

  30. I have a random question for you..... I'm working on decorating my house and I mainly want it to be a simple place for us, traditional and timeless. So of course your house came to my mind since it's all of these things (and I LOVE it by the way and can't wait to see your new kitchen!). So I started scrolling through to find pictures of your living room area to see how many pictures you have on walls, etc. The last picture on this post shows the three pictures over your couch. Is this the only picture you have of your entire living room? Also, are the pictures over your couch family photos that you change out, or are they pictures that stay the same? I know, super random and probably silly question. But I don't know how to decorate and pull together my house! And I love your house!
