As a mom of three young ladies, the youngest being 16, I think that is one of the sweetest invitations ever! He's got imagination (or he at least listens to a female in his life). Awwww.
1- I love that you're quoting ND again! LOVE.2- I love that I almost overlooked teeny tiny Janey in Jeff's arms. She's still bite-sized!
Oh, that is adorable!
Such a fun time to be teen!Lol at the little babe in dad's arms :)
LOL! So let me guess.....Jeff's not too thrilled? ; )I must say I am impressed with his balancing skills...a good grip on baby.....but not so caring about the cake. HA HA.Congrats to Abbey! We don't have homecoming dances up here in these parts....but I have nieces who do down there and I hear it's a BIG deal! Awesome.
abby looks so beautiful.jeff is so funny!thinking of you!
Any boy who asks big questions with CHOCOLATE is one smart fella!!!
Did the boy know of your family love of Napoleon Dynamite???? That is too cute. I'm glad she didn't have the same reaction as Summer! Beautiful young lady! I have loved your blog for years. I enjoy it so much!
LOL. I think my husband will respond the same way in a few years. It is literally such a sweet way to ask though. When I was in high school we were just asked...not in fun, creative ways :)
I'm dying here! That is so sweet and does he know about your family's obsession with ND?
That is one smart boy!!
I love the baby feet peeking out! Love this post. Fun times.
Love this! What a sweet idea!
Haha the last picture is hilarious! And what a sweet idea for an invite, glad she said yes!
Poor dads... it's so hard for them!
Bahaha! Too funny and too typical!
So funny! But what a sweet boy! I can only imagine how my husband will react when my girls are of dating age....
That is so super sweet!
That is so sweet. One time in middle school my daughter was having social problems in school. She was adamant that she was not going to go to school one morning and one of her old friends (a boy) came to our door with a helium balloon and an apology card (he was involved in the problem). It was not a romantic gesture (too young!) but it was a gesture of pure friendship and made my heart melt. It made my daughter's heart melt, too, because she willingly went to school after that.
Oh MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is hysterical and so darn funny!! Abby is a total doll. What a lucky guy.Ohhhh thanks for the laugh...I needed that.Sending hugs to you sweet Momma.Amy WChicago
HOW SWEET IS THAT?!?!?!? AWWWWWW.And LOL! That's every dad's reaction! hehehehe
This is AWESOME.
Dang. That boy is on the right track, isn't he?! LOL Fabulous way to ask a girl out. And yes, love little Janey in the crook of her daddy's arms :-)
Thank you for posting this. Delightful!
Love this!! Smart boy!
Hahaha! Love it! :) Abbey is so pretty and little Janie's feet are adorable. Have fun dress shopping!
1. That is SO sweet!2. I love that she allowed you to both take a picture AND blog about it. That's one confident teenage girl. She's adorable.
Hilarious. Even funnier is the baby tucked under daddy!
That is the cutest thing ever!
One of my all-time favorite posts!
That is adorable! A lot of work went into that cake! It wasn't until I read some of the comments that I realized Jeff was holding Janey! Hilarious! Have a great time at Homecoming Abbey!
That's great... Lucky Abbey! And so glad Jeff didn't get mixed up and tuck the cake in his arms and gobble Janey up... Or maybe he did that later?(or is it just me who wants to eat squidgy little babies all up? Starting with their toes...)
That is so sweet!!!! My 12 year old was asked to go to a HS football game and I, of course, said "no way" but it really made me think that this is not too far away. Janey is such a cute little bean and Abbey is just beautiful. :)
Either teenage boys have changed a LOT in the last 10 years or I never had creative dates! Ha! That is the cutest thing ever!
This post makes me inordinately happy.Signed,Another ND Fan
I love that you are getting to live nearly every stage of parenting simultaneously. Blessings to your lovely family.
Three ND quotes in a row?? I love you.
What are ND quotes?I'm lame... anyone want to fill me in?
This is teenagehood on pinterest.Rewind 20 years...lol...
Thanks again for keeping Napoleon alive in your quotes. I swear, I love that movie so much it is ridiculous! I had to comment that Janie's feet peeking out just cracked me up. Those newborn days of carrying the baby while you do EVERYTHING are so precious. I'm glad Abbey is going to homecoming, what a fun time of her life.
Haha, I didn't see Jeff holding Janey either! That is a riot - and very sweet! There seems to be a new trend in homecoming asking in new and creative ways. I think it's escalating a bit. I heard about the signs all the way down the road. I observed one at a football game in the band - a little "play" was put on. Poor guys, there will be more pressure on them now!
I think this is just so lovely and what a gentleman
Really sweet of that young man and your hubby's reaction is classic!
I spied sweet janey! Gosh, I love this blog... I would pay $1 to read each post, I really would!
Precious! He should be a fun date. :)
I love Dad's taking a bite out of it haha. At least it looks homemade so he didn't take any short cuts ;)
