Cabin Fever

We have cabin fever here REAL BAD.
Everyone is a little impatient (what a nice way to put it) with each other.

I have started my annual PURGE this week.  I don't know how far I will get.  I know that I had planned to originally wait till Lent, but that seems far far away, and I need a project now.  I feel like if I start a little Spring cleaning, then Spring will arrive earlier.  Oh, I wish it worked that way.

  1. I've been doing the spring cleaning/pitching too. But not so much by choice, we're redoing our kitchen and since the cabinet doors were down and you could see all the junk I accumulated over the past year, I started pitching stuff, LOL. Maybe if we all spring clean, we can will it to arrive early - a girl can dream, right?

  2. I have been plodding along since Christmas! Maybe this way when spring arrives I'll be done and can go outside and enjoy guilt free! (I was inspired by your 40 bags last year, so I periodically look at your pictures and get inspired again. Especially your daughters room- I even shared it with my 13 year old to show her it can be done!)

  3. We started our purging yesterday, after viewing the model homes again in our neighborhood (our house was just built in July). Reminded us we have WAY too much stuff & clutter & stuff. Hate it!

And I understand about cabin fever, but our threshold here in AZ is a little lower! lol... If it stays in the 50s too long, I go crazy.

What a cute pic of Patrick and the dog! It would be cuter without the snow & ice!

    =)

  4. Oh, Sarah, I started right after I put up all the Christmas decor. I really wanted to wait for Lent, but I couldn't..... I needed some stuff gone right then. Of course, now that work is in my way, I can't get going again..... my pantry and bedroom closet really need to be purged!

  5. I had been doing well with our purge. I took a bit to a friend's home to swap. I had planned on bringing NOTHING home, but my good intentions went to the side. I did bring home a couple things I thought we needed - two baskets for laundry in the kiddos' rooms and a few books. Now to get more out to make room for the new.

I truly hope your spring comes soon.

  8. A dear friend has offered to come over for a day and help me tackle my To Do list. She's even up for some painting so I think I will take her up on the offer and get started on some spring cleaning even if it is still very much winter outside.

  10. I think we are all feeling the "cabin fever". I have actually done two posts on cleaning already, lol. Hope you don't mind me giving you the links, may help with you figure out what to do with your finds. One was on cleaning out your closets and recycling your finds: http://zombieproofhomemaking.blogspot.com/2011/01/great-ideas-when-you-are-cleaning-out.html
I also found this great site Thred Up where you can trade children's clothing through The Frugal Find http://thefrugalfind.com/
Here is the blog I did on cleaning products, having fun making and using those! http://zombieproofhomemaking.blogspot.com/2011/01/spring-cleaning.html Hope you have fun and can escape soon!

  11. I wish you could hop on a plane and come and visit me! It is so beautiful and sunny here. Am I making it worse? Sorry. :)

It is never too early to purge. I'm always amazed at how getting rid of stuff puts me in the best mood. I've been doing the same and it is a project that will help with any kind of "funk" you're in. It's my go to whenever I'm feeling depressed for sure.

  12. Yesterday it was 70 degrees here in NC! It put me in the spring cleaning mode too! I think it's like 47 days until spring...Bring it on!

  13. Darling photo! Good thing kids are still cute in the wintertime, else you might not make it. I remember how long the winters got when we lived in Michigan. Heck, they're even a little tiresome here in North Carolina!

I got to have dinner with Melissa (320 Sycamore) while we were in Nashville at Blissdom. We talked about you--were your ears burning? I so wish you'd been there. You're one blogger I'd really love to meet!

  14. I've been spring cleaning like MAD even though they're forecasting some blizzard for tomorrow, that doesn't sound very springish. :)

  17. Sigh...I am so jealous. I have needed to purge for the past 6 years. But if it will help bring on Spring, I am all about helping out my fellowmen.

  18. I was recently forwarded a post that you did on creating a header! It was awesome! I do not have a clue about design and layout and this helped me so much! When I look back at your blog, everything is lined up, while my posts titles seem to be so far to the left...my header doesn't stretch the length of the blog. I followed your tips exactly and am so excited to now have a header!! Do you have any suggestions on lining everything up? I am using the Minima Stretch. Thank you so much! I am lovin' your blog! 19. I have cabin fever, too. And it's not even snowy. There's just something about this time of year. Maybe I will start a purge project. A bag a day, huh?

  20. I love reading your posts about purging, so be sure to share! One day around the holidays, when I was cleaning out a couple closets, my husband pointed out that he'd forgotten to take the garbage out for pick-up that week, and if possible, try not create too many additional bags. I looked at him like UMMMM, how do I organize without filling up garbage bags first? Not possible.
