Trying to drown Dad in the pool one evening. (I actually think was some sort of find-and-wrestle-the-penny-away game.)
A fire for marshmallows. I ran to get some at the store-Patrick said, "Mom don't forget to buy sticks too!" We had to laugh at that one.
Too hot to play outside. Do you like the pirate flag? It's taped to a wooden skewer which was then stuck into my brand new chair cushion that cost a pretty penny. I have to not care...it was worth all the quiet play time to say nothing at all.
Andrew's prep for lemonade stand. If you want to save something in our fridge-leftovers, doggie bags, etc, you MUST put a sign on them.
He made a bundle, and would have one every day if I let him. Quite a little entrepreneur. He stood at the corner (yes, that made me nervous) on the hottest day ever, and had so much fun.
It has been such a great summer...pregnancy wise it has been HOT for sure, but my kids have been so settled with being home almost every day. (That doesn't count Isaac who usually always has a plan to play golf with friends, or see a movie, or has to work...but he drives himself of course, which I do NOT take for granted-it is awesome to have him independent that way.) Matt rides his bike all around town, to the library especially.
Can you believe it's August tomorrow? Abbey starts school in 15 days! She is busy with her summer school work-reading The Book Thief and writing a huge report on it, and memorizing a bunch of weird chemistry stuff-ick. I think I have them all shopped out and ready supply-wise, which is good for me, because I am slow-going right now. I am going to try to savor these last few weeks before all the hoopla starts up again-and you can't have more hoopla than what I'm in for come mid August!
