Count Down

I am trying to enjoy these last days of my pregnancy but I'm also looking forward to having my energy back and being able to breathe, eat, sleep and move.  I usually start to panic about now, when all that important stuff I just mentioned takes a nose dive.  I think of all I have to do (especially this summer with Isaac going off to college, and the kids starting school all in the same week as my due date!) and wonder how I will get it all finished and keep pace with the ordinary days as well.  It seems like I am plum tuckered out by noon every day and that's just not going to cut it.

  1. Take care of yourself! Make rest a priority, even with all those responsibilities. Youre nothing if youre exhausted and cranky.

  2. I'm right there with you! We are due the same day...wonder who will go first?! I have those same mixed feelings...I'm ready, but I'm also not. Good luck! I've been thinking about you!

  4. You can do it! You are an amazing person, you have done so much already. Have faith.

  5. Take the time to encourage everyone to do more so you can do less. Even insist on it. Being "plum tuckered out by noon" means that mom needs a two hour nap after lunch, no interruptions.
The children can occupy themselves together. They can exist without you right there beside them.
Now is a good time to train them to run the house! They'll need those skills very soon while you are busy with the baby.

  6. You will make it through all of your obstacles with ease, although maybe just a little slower than normal! You are an inspiration to so many of us mothers out there!

My mom had my littlest sister at your exact age and she started each morning with 8:00 am mass and walked a little each day and felt it was her favorite pregnancy!

I hope you have the same luck that she did! I am 38 and that littlest sister is 18 and we are as close as ever (with lots of sibs in between, too)

Big families are a gift unlike no other, that you can give your children for life.

  7. I'm right there with you. My due date is mid-Sept, but we found out two weeks ago that we will actually deliver by c-section in mid-August due to some complications (me, not baby boy) -a few days before school starts. How am I supposed to walk my kindergardener to school on his first day? :) A little anxious to get this house completely organized by then, along with preparing my boys for school and having some fun with them along the way while battling fatigue. Rest when you can, and just enjoy the other time. It will probably be your most memorable summer ever!

  8. You can do it! Maybe you can give the older children more responsibilities for some of the things that need to be done, so that you can get the rest you need. Take care of yourself.

  9. I'm so flippin excited for you!! I can't wait to "meet" the bambino!

Now, you KNOW this, but I'm going to remind you... this is also the last time in a while that you are going to be able to get some rest, so do it.

  10. I'm so excited for you to be done and be able to snuggle that little bean! There's nothing quite as incredible like that first touch of their warm little body on your chest, is there? Magic. Hang in there :)

  11. Thinking of you, dearie, as you count down. May this last month bring peace and confidence amidst all the activities:-).

Just this past weekend, I met my newest nephew, only a day old. Oh, my, you're in for such joy!

  12. I remember feeling that way about this time with each of my pregnancies...it was kinda like a mini panic attack, even though I had been through it so many times, I still panicked and worried about everything.

  13. This is like the shortest pregnancy ever! Well for us anyways because you kept it a secret for so long :) I think it's perfect timing that your kids go to school when the baby is born...then you have plenty of time to rest and breastfeed. Yay!!

  16. I have faith in you Sarah. Somehow, the impossible always seems possible with you. I don't mean to be unsupportive or put any pressure on you, but you are one of the most "can do" people I know. Best wishes.

  17. These last few weeks are THE hardest.
I hope you can get the rest you need amid all the family happenings. If it's any consolation - you look amazing in your last pic at the picnic! ;) What I'd give to look like that 9 months pregnant! Thinking of you...

  21. You are getting closer every day. But as the voice of reason :) .... Seems I was just a ticking time bomb of nesting irrationality. And now that has all come to a screeching unnecessary halt.

Take care of the big stuff and the rest will fall into place ... And helpful big kids are a bonus! Yeah for five weeks!!!!

  24. I have been reading just long enough to have all the confidence in you!!

You can do this and I can not wait to watch you conquer all!!

    Best wishes coming your way:)

  25. You can do it, Sarah. And it'll be hard! I personally can't breathe/sleep/move during the newborn phase (nursing & up all night). ;) You'll have so many little "parents" helping you out with #6. And think of the quiet time when all the kids are in school . . . !

  26. Yahoo! You can do it! Hang in there!

  27. I've had 2 babies that were born the week the older kids went to school! LOL, yes you can make yourself crazy trying to get it all done, but thankfully it gives you something productive to do while you are nesting :o)

It seems like just yesterday we were waiting for our 6th child to arrive, and I can't believe she's already 7 months old!

Enjoy your even "bigger" family! I can't wait to see pictures.
