Unrelated Incidents

Isaac got his temporary liscense. He passed the test. We tried to play a joke on Dad and act like Isaac didn't pass, but when we got home from the testing bureau Isaac failed miserably at our trick because he could not contain his smile. (If you think teaching your kids to tie their shoes, use the potty, or ride a two-wheeler is bad...holey shmokes, I had no idea how nerve racking this is!)

Matthew broke his wrist during his basketball game. Darn.
Don't you think ER's could come up with some special sort of point system for mothers like me, with lots of boys? Maybe at the end of the year we could add up our points, browse through a brightly colored catalog, and pick out a new grill, a point and shoot camera, or at least a nice kitchen appliance?

(See Andrew in the background, still traumatized by his last break, checking things out?  He was so worried about Matt...he told him, "Don't worry Matt, this means you will get so much candy!")

  1. Good morning from Spain (Catalonia-), a few days ago I follow your blog and I love, I like your post and your photos. You have a nice family.
As no English, translators with google and try to learn new words, I am determined to learn English, (learning French at school I now ...) A greeting from Castelldefels, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.

  2. My sister and I both tried to pull the same trick on my dad...and we both failed miserably as well.

  3. That little baby face can drive with a parent? Sheesh! Is that what we looked like when we were on the roads for the first time. Scary. He looks sooo happy. I remember that moment.

  5. One year my husband and both boys broke their ankles. ALL IN ONE YEAR! We joked and said we bought the orthopedic doctor a new car. It was not a joke.

  8. Congrats to Isaac! Poor Matthew, thus far we've only had one broken bone in our family (me, way back in the 3rd grade.). Have a great weekend!

  9. Knock on wood I haven't had any broken bones here, just the ER visit when my daughter was 2 and she took some allergy pills, but I digress. I love the point system I think that makes complete sense, I mean they know you by name, don't you have an assigned room by now? LOL

  22. Congratulations to your son. I can't fully grasp what that moment will be like when my oldest is at the wheel. An odd mix of terror and pride?

Sorry to hear about more broken bones on Clover Lane. We do stitches at the Lifenut house. If only the ER and urgent care had a punchcard. 10th Visit Free!
