An Autumn Walk

It’s been chillier here than usual. I am not ready for winter…I never am anymore. I’ll take snow on Christmas, maybe New Year’s Eve too. After that, I’d like to just start right up on April 1. Perfect.
I’ve also been under the weather…remember my Monday post? For gosh sake, I got a terrible fever and chills and aches that lasted 3 nights and 3 days...yes it very possibly could have been THAT (piggy) flu. It's not that bad, really! OK, it was bad at night, but not the worst flu I've ever had. And I would have never gotten the vaccination anyways. But if I watch the news and read the paper...I'm supposed to be dead! Alleluia!
Anyways, it’s also served as a wake up call to me that I need to take better care of myself…I’ve been eating just terrible and that’s an awful way to treat your body. I usually never get sick so obviously I've battered my immune system. My family needs me…just 3 days, and everyone is out of sorts. The fever has burned some sense into me.
In spite of all this…Patrick and I really needed to get some fresh air so off we went yesterday around the block and back again. I snapped a few pictures because the light was beautiful.

This is the best situation for all parties involved:003
It's been really windy here lately...someone lost their house:

Must we consistently veer off the path? Sidewalks are SO constraining, are they not?

My rose are still blooming!

And the grand finale...home at last.013

  1. gorgeous photos, sarah! i am glad you're feeling better and got out for a walk. and good for you to know you need to take better care of yourself. it's so easy to get caught up in taking care of everyone else and put ourselves last.

  5. Lovely photos!

I hope you are feeling better soon. I originally said no way to all those vaccines. Of course I watch too much TV news and read too much and NOW have the slightest feeling of second guessing my decision. Everything is about FEAR tactics ... ugh.

  6. I'm so sorry you've been under the weather! Everyone suffers when mom is sick. We've been feeling that too with this first trimester lovliness. Hopefully we're both in the clear now! That picture of Patrick walking your dog is so precious. Love it!

  8. Glad you are okay and feeling better...your pics are gorgeous, especially the ones of the lil' guy on the swing! So sweet! Like you, the older I get, the less I like winter!

  9. I see no allure in Winter.

Your walk makes me miss our "town" days. Puttering around the yard just isn't the same as a good, old fashioned walk.

ps- On the way to PA we stopped at the Cracker Barrel and as we drove away I saw the P-burg Inn! Holy smokes. I was so close...

  12. I'm glad you're feeling better! I LOVE your pictures. They are so clear and I love how your subjects pop out of the blurry background. I've been wondering what type of lens you use for pictures like you posted today.

  13. Take care of yourself. Sleep! But fresh air is good, too. This week I got a flu shot (regular), blood test and mammogram (ouch!) I've been putting off the latter 2 for over a year.

  14. Gee, I have been sick this week, too, and I also claim I never get sick! I see the pics of little guy in his jacket and would love a little of that where we live. It is still in the 90's! Hydrate yourself....:)
