A Quick Dinner Kids Love

The Rhodes dinner rolls are in the frozen food section.  They only take about an hour to thaw and even quicker if you use the fast thaw method on the back of the package.
097I use a generous amount of olive oil…that’s the secret to a good homemade pizza I think.  My kids love to make their pizzas themselves.  Sometimes though, I just sneak and do it quickly by myself because…well, you know why.  It’s easier, and less messy, and there are no fights about anyone hogging the pepperoni slices.  I don’t need arguments over pepperoni slices at 5:00 pm, do you?  I didn’t think so.099I bake mine at 400 degrees, maybe 10 or so minutes, middle oven rack.104102

  1. This is fun and easy for sure! We use biscuit dough for ours......from the can.....just squash and add your toppings.

December 1! I love the holidays. I just posted our annual advent calendar if you're interested, btw. Kids color each day until Christmas. Fun and free!

  2. Patrick still has little toddler hands - LOVE! Amelia has lost hers and it makes me want to cry. I had it on my to do list for a year to take pictures of her chubby little hands, and I never got around to it.

  3. Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! Since we moved to the midwest, I have not been able to find pizza dough at ALL. In Massachusetts, they sell it at the deli ready to go in a happy little ball, but not here. The Rhodes rolls I have seen though, and plan to fill the freezer with them ASAP!

  4. That looks good! My kids would like it a lot.

We often just take white bread, which works out well, too.

Another dinner my kids love is white sweet bread soaked in eggs and milk and then cooked on both sides in a pan. Add a little bit of sugar and some cinnamon -- they love it.

    So long,
    Corinna

  15. YUM, easy dinner ideas are great! Have you ever made monkey bread? Get those refrig Pillsbury biscuits (not buttermilk), cut in quarters, shake in bag of sugar & cinnamon, arrange in bundt pan, pour melted butter (1/2 c) & 1 cup brown sugar over (opt) and cook 350 for 35 minutes. Cool 10 min, then turn out onto a plate. It's SO easy, kids love to make it with, and SO darn yummy.

p.s. Loved the post over at the other blog. I am very picky with what we allow into our holiday tradition lineup. If it doesn't enhance the fun or meaning of the holiday for us, then it's out. Thanks for your wise words, as always!
