Sunflowers

I love sunflowers in my kitchen...it must be something with the black and white fabric on the chairs.  Sunflowers are so cheap and sold not only at our weekly farmer's market, but also, at the grocery store I've been to it seems at least twice a week this summer.

Although I promised myself I wouldn't stress about my house really getting out of shape this summer, this past week, with the extremely high temperatures and humidity, we've had a few inside days where I've really tackled the floors (steam cleaning) and the walls (Magic Eraser).  I couldn't stand it anymore.

  1. Summer is the time of the year that I seem to notice all the needs of my home. This year ESPECIALLY ... Some big changes need to happen.

    Love the SUNFLOWERS!

  2. I just made a list like that a couple days ago. But it's more along the lines of organization. Of course you know all about that, since you inspire me to be more organized. And sunflowers. I am about to post a blog about sunflowers myself. We planted some on a whim in the back yard, and tonight I roasted a bunch of seeds. Sunflowers and to-do lists are a must for summer.

  3. I went to the Farmers Market yesterday and wanted sunflowers, they are so pretty. Of course, Riley had other ideas and we opted for a bunch of pretty pink and purple wildflowers. Next week though, they are mine!

  4. Good idea to call a handyman--admitting that there is no way we can do it all is the first mistake we usually make...

  5. My walls could use some help when you're done, okay? ;)

  7. I love seeing photos of your beautiful home. It motivates me to clean mine. I don't know how you do it with 5 children. I only have one (and one on the way) and we feel like things are a mess moments after we've cleaned.

  8. Love the photo of your table! And I agree, the house has to get cleaned otherwise I think the whole family starts to go a little crazy!

  9. Ugh! All summer I adopt a *grinandbearit* attitude and try to turn the other cheek at the upheaval that surrounds me in this house! It makes me wacko.

    I even have older kids that can do jobs but even when I tell (teach) them how to do a job, it will NEVER be done the way it should (the way I want).

    But I can't seem to bring myself to really clean when they are all undoing everything as fast as I clean!

  10. I feel like my house is cluttered every second. Then I have to remember that it's filled with kids every second, and that's better than empty!
    Steam-cleaned the floor. Wow. Impressed.

  13. We did that a couple of months ago - there were TONS of little house projects, and the list grew and grew, and my poor hubby would never get to them. So in two days we had a handyman get them ALL done - it was GREAT!

  15. I DO feel that the state of my house is something that will defeat me...and I only have two kids!
    { They are toddlers..hopefully it gets easier as they grow and get more responsible??}

    I sigh many many times a day at the losing battle of tidying, cleaning and organizing that seems to be undone the moment I finish the task...SIGH... :)

  16. With my four little kiddos I feel like I'm also fighting a losing battle to keep my house inviting & organized. Sometimes I think I try harder because I'm trying to prove that I'm not that crazy for having these four kids? That I can handle it? That when people say "oh, you have your hands full" I can shrug like it's no big deal. {p.s. I'd be rich if I had a dollar for all the times I've heard that!}
