My wonderful old-time blogging friend Melissa @ 320 Sycamore asked me to participate in her Favorite Things series and I said I would love to! Some new, some I’ve loved for a long long time, here is my quick list of my favorite things:
Super soft, long lasting, hold the stomach in, long enough, not see through, not pilly, not too tight not too loose, leggings. I’ve bought this pair of leggings at least four or five times (because I usually end up getting paint on the older pair), they are the best! So comfy.
I usually don’t spend this much on a pair of pj’s but let me tell you, I LOVE these and I’m so glad I splurged. These are so so soft, not too hot not too cold, loose enough to be comfy, and they look so nice on. They come in so many cute prints also. True to size, knowing that they will be roomy and not restricting. Elastic waist with a tie, and 100% super soft cotton. I will buy these forever!
If you live somewhere with wood floors and cold winters, or always have cold feet, these Ugg slippers are wonderful and worth every penny. My feet never get sweaty in these, and they don’t smell either because socks are awful, don’t you think? I switch from these to flip flops and back again.
I wear this coat from November till April. It keeps me warm but not sweating to death warm-perfect for Ohio winters, long enough sleeves for me, and a hood, and the perfect length.
For Christmas when I was young things were tight some years (and also my mom was a lover of simple things) and one of the gifts we would get is a new notebook for school. I’ve kept that tradition for myself, (along with a new book, coming soon) and there is nothing that makes me happier than a beautiful fresh pretty notebook, just waiting to be filled with lists. 🙂
I love personalized notecards and notepads and this one is GORGEOUS -I just ordered mine a month ago and it’s almost too pretty to use. I used the same font and color as the photo above and it is understated and elegant.
Another must have for Christmas morning is a good book for reading over break. Hyeonseo Lee’s memoir is incredible, and after reading it I was overcome with gratitude at how lucky I have been, and also just amazed at her resilient spirit. (I would suggest listening to this podcast also-amazing story of escaping from the hell of North Korea.)
A soy candle that smells like a library! I love candles. Maybe my home is smelly, like old soccer cleats, dusty furnace ducts from 1942, and wafting pizza rolls cooking in the oven, but a candle burning makes it all better for my very sensitive nose. This one is amazing!
The Shark Navigator is the BEST vacuum I’ve ever owned, and also the longest lasting too. Because you can clean every part! And when you do the suction is as good as new. It makes lines in low pile Berber carpet it’s that good.
The softest most cuddly blanket ever in all sizes and more colors (personally I love the white!)
My 82 year old mother looks AMAZING and she uses this face creme – not expensive, (she used to use Johnson’s Baby Cream her whole life until they discontinued it) and this is her go-to now, sooo-I figure if it works for her, it will work for me. My skin never dries out with this even with our long winters.
Check out 320 Sycamore for more lists of favorite things from fellow bloggers. Thanks Melissa!
I want to look like your Mom! (and be like your Mom) Thanks for the link to her face cream. I love that she used Johnson’s baby cream ♥ Also adding the book to my list. And I want to come to your house and smell the library candle. Thanks for great recommendations as always!!
Umm, I think I will just order everything on your list.
Except the gorgeous notebook. Why do they have to put “notebook” on the front and ruin everything? There are too many words everywhere, driving me crazy. I guess I could find a sticker.
But, everything else I’m buying!
Love that blanket! And love learning about 320 Sycamore. You always have such high-quality suggestions! Thank you for that!
I always love seeing your “favorites”. Cozy & useful gifts…just perfect.
