Sweetness

I found this today after I ordered a bed to be made.  I am so glad I noticed this little tenderness-a teddy bear gently covered up, tucked in and peeking out.  Sometimes with all the hustle and bustle of the household I know I overlook these things- things like little acts of kindness I don’t see, or hear.  Its easy to let the negative stuff get more attention-the job undone, the snippy remark, the unkind criticism, the toothpaste all over the counter.

But I learn this lesson again and again and again-noticing the good stuff gets me SO much farther.

Instead of scolding, praising.

Instead of harping, smiling.

Instead of being agitated, being grateful.

Instead of an angry tone, a gentle word.

I love you, Sarah. You have no idea who I am but I adore your blog and look up to you so much as a mother. I wish I could come sit in your kitchen and glean from your wisdom. That bottom part…new goals for me. Thank you!

I feel the same way as the person above…you are much too young to be my mother, but I look up to you in the same way. My mother died when I was in college and how I wish she was here to help me with the challenges of raising young children…your blog has been such a huge encouragement to me and your message of constant kindness to others and especially our children and spouses constantly encourages me..thank you! Your blog means so much more to the people that read it than you know 🙂 ps…more pics of precious Janey, please!

Very cute and it reminds me of a book recommendation if you haven't already read it. 1000 gifts. Very good!
