A cute nice boy rang our doorbell the other day and dropped off this for Abbey:

Isn’t that sweet? She said yes of course.

Jeff came home from work a few hours later and I showed him the goods and he rolled his eyes and did this:

As a mom of three young ladies, the youngest being 16, I think that is one of the sweetest invitations ever! He's got imagination (or he at least listens to a female in his life). Awwww.

1- I love that you're quoting ND again! LOVE.
2- I love that I almost overlooked teeny tiny Janey in Jeff's arms. She's still bite-sized!

LOL! So let me guess…..Jeff's not too thrilled? ; )

I must say I am impressed with his balancing skills…a good grip on baby…..but not so caring about the cake. HA HA.

Congrats to Abbey! We don't have homecoming dances up here in these parts….but I have nieces who do down there and I hear it's a BIG deal! Awesome.

Did the boy know of your family love of Napoleon Dynamite???? That is too cute. I'm glad she didn't have the same reaction as Summer! Beautiful young lady! I have loved your blog for years. I enjoy it so much!

LOL. I think my husband will respond the same way in a few years. It is literally such a sweet way to ask though. When I was in high school we were just asked…not in fun, creative ways 🙂

That is so sweet. One time in middle school my daughter was having social problems in school. She was adamant that she was not going to go to school one morning and one of her old friends (a boy) came to our door with a helium balloon and an apology card (he was involved in the problem). It was not a romantic gesture (too young!) but it was a gesture of pure friendship and made my heart melt. It made my daughter's heart melt, too, because she willingly went to school after that.

(or is it just me who wants to eat squidgy little babies all up? Starting with their toes…)

Thanks again for keeping Napoleon alive in your quotes. I swear, I love that movie so much it is ridiculous! I had to comment that Janie's feet peeking out just cracked me up. Those newborn days of carrying the baby while you do EVERYTHING are so precious. I'm glad Abbey is going to homecoming, what a fun time of her life.

Haha, I didn't see Jeff holding Janey either! That is a riot – and very sweet! There seems to be a new trend in homecoming asking in new and creative ways. I think it's escalating a bit. I heard about the signs all the way down the road. I observed one at a football game in the band – a little "play" was put on. Poor guys, there will be more pressure on them now!
