As a faithful follower, I'd like to say WOW!!! Congratulations. I am so happy for you. I have six myself but you are such a wonderful mother and I admire you.
WOW!!! What exciting news for your family. And honestly, my first thought was what a blessed baby to get to come to your wonderful family. I hope you are feeling well. (And selfishly, I hope you will continue blogging because your blog is such an inspiration to me!)
best news i've heard for a while. congrats and hooray for you for having your priorities right where they should be and not being afraid to do so…but being happy about it.
Dear Sarah I am ao happy for you!
You have not been very active in the blog and now I know the explanation for it! I love every single post here! Can't wait to hear about the sex of the baby! Congratulations to you and the whole family! How does it feel sending one to college and having a new baby arriving almost the same time??
Congratulations! I just want to let you know that I really love what you have to say. I love when you tell it like it is. Your prior post was great and makes me feel much better about my own parenting techniques. As my children grow older I find myself saying no more often than not to all the many things that take me away from them (even those things that are good) because, like you said, bottom line is they need me. You should read this talk from one of my church leaders. It really puts things in perspective and I think you'll like it: http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2007/10/good-better-best?lang=eng&query=good+better+best
Thanks for sharing all your thoughts with us random, unknown to you, mothers out there.
Heidi and Evie are as far apart as Isaac and new baby. Let me just tell you that, as hard as it is, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I know how hard this journey has been for you, and I am so happy for you.
My heartfelt congratulations. And just let me tell you, having a baby in your 40s is hard. But so worth it.
I faithfully read your blog, I love it and you have been so good to answer questions for me, so I just had to comment on this post, wow, that is so exciting and so fun. Congrats!!! I have 5, but I don't think I could do 6, I really admire you for that.
Congratulations to your family! My children are spaced out and I must say I love it. I will never have to feel the sting of an empty nest and neither will you! What a blessing a new baby is!
So exciting, Sarah! I am truly happy for you! This little baby is joining such a special family and a truly special mom.
On your last post, you wrote "See, I'm 43-I've been a mom for 18 years and I've raised five children so far". When you wrote "so far", I started to think… 🙂
Oh my goodness! So thrilled for you! I have to tell you, I am the oldest of seven kids, my baby sister was born the summer before I went to college. She's 16 now and we just have the best, best relationship. There's a special bond there, even though we never really lived in the same house. It's all kinds of fabulous.
Congratulations!!! That is such exciting news. I'm due about three weeks after you and we too are going to wait to find out the sex of our baby. Have you waited with all of yours? This is our third and our first time waiting to find out gender. I'm so excited!
Sarah, WOW!!!! I'm sooooo happy for you. I just had my 4th at 42 years old and I'm LOVING every minute of it!!! Such a blessing. Congratulations to you all. And God bless that precious baby.
I thought maybe you were expecting again when you said in your last post that you've raised 5 kids so far. How wonderful! I'm so excited for you and your family. That new little baby will be so happy to call you mom!
I just wish there was a "Like" button for everyone's comments, because I agree wholeheartedly with everyone! I've been a loyal reader for a couple of years, but I don't think I've ever commented. But this warrants a comment! Congratulations. I don't "know" you, but I'm so excited for you!!
Congratulations!! How exciting! I can't wait to hear more, if you're willing to share. I think it is great that you are waiting to find out the gender 😀
Congratulations, Sarah!! I had to read that through three times to have it really sink in! I'm SO happy for you! The BEST news ever!I'm already a faithful blog follower, but if I wasn't, this seals the deal.
When you said "I've been a mom for 18 years and I've raised five children so far…" in your last blog post, I had an inkling that maybe you were pregnant or planning for a sixth. 🙂 Congratulations!!
Congratulations! How exciting for your family! How are you feeling? I vote girl ~ she already looks perfect. I can't remember your age, but I delivered at 42 with not one problem during my pregnancy.
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you, and so thrilled for the sweet baby that is lucky enough to be born into your home. This is such exciting news. I am hoping and praying for number 4 to join our family soon. Sadly, I don't think my body is going to hold out for six.
This makes ME over the moon happy too and it's strange cause I have no idea who you are…but you inspire me on a weekly basis…you put thoughts in my head that make me happy, confident, feel validated, and pumped. I've been a reader the last year and I'm excited to read your perspective in the newborn stages 😉 CONGRATULATIONS!!
Congratulations! We had our sixth when our oldest was 17 and our youngest was 4. Now we have a little 3 year old. I could never imagine our family any other way. What a blessing. I am so happy for you!
Congratulations! We had our sixth when our oldest was 17 and our youngest was 4. Now we have a little 3 year old. I could never imagine our family any other way. What a blessing. I am so happy for you!
First and foremost congratulations! This is what you were meant to do, be a mother! May you have a HEALTHY pregnancy free of any problems or concerns. Every baby is a blessing no matter at what age. But most of important, and I know you will. Cherish every moment of it! We all know too well how fast the 9 months goes. Xoxxo. P.s. I'm a little jelous! I would love to have had a 5th.
Enjoy!
Luckiest little baby ever! I'm so excited for your family. Oh what good news. I seriously got little happy tingles. I love your blog and all that you have to say. Oh, I just can't wait.
Oh Sarah, how wonderful for you and for your family, and for this new little person that gets to come to your home full of love. I couldn't be happier for you!! Congratulations from this mom of 10!
Congratulations! I love your blog and your words of wisdom. I hope you can keep sharing. As a mother of just one I appreciate your perspective and would love hear your wisdom as you welcome this new gift.
SARAH!!!!! I can't believe it – you made a comment somewhere about being a mother to five children…*so far*, and I was hoping you were hinting at something. How the heck did you keep this a secret for so long? You're almost halfway there! I am over the moon happy for you as well!!!!!!!
I have tears of joy! and my throat caught when I saw the thumbnail of your sonogram! So VERY exciting! You are one of my favorite blogs to check in on and now I'm even more excited! Congratulations Sarah! To you and your lovely family! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!
Congratulations Sarah!!! Wishing you a very happy pregnancy, all of your readers will be thrilled walking through this journey with you! What a great support group, huh? 🙂
I totally got chills reading your announcement! What GREAT news!! I have never commented before, but I love your blog, and this new little person deserves a comment! Congratulations!!!
I am 40, have four children, and I don't believe our family is complete. If Heavenly Father believes I can raise one more…it'll happen. Your sweet announcement today gives me more of an assurance that it will happen! I took that as a sign! God Bless you, and I pray many blessings upon you and your family. Children are truly a blessing! Congrats!
AWWWW! I don't know you but I am so excited for you and your family! I am so happy for you that I could cry:) That baby will be so loved. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Congratulations. He/she is beautiful and very blessed. My sister is pregnant with her 5th and all you pregnant women are making me reconsider having another (for about 2 seconds ;)).
Congratulations!
Wishing you a wonderful pregnancy, enjoy this time and feel well!
Thank you for sharing your life with us, it's like having coffee (or tea) with a friend each post. God Bless.
In your last post when you said, "….so far" I wondered if that meant room for more, because I was hoping! Congratulations! What a blessing, and I will pray for you to feel good. I hope things haven't been too rough!
Oh Sarah! One phrase you wrote yesterday made me think–I'm not sure she's done yet! And I'm so excited for you and your family. There's no better place for a new soul to land. Congratulations!
What wonderful news! I am expecting #5, and your blog is very encouraging to me. (Your post yesterday was especially helpful.) Very, very happy for you.
I faithfully read your blog but NEVER comment. Couldn't resist. I'm 29 weeks pregnant, 37 years old and been struggling to get pregnant for almost 4 years. Therefore, my older two will be 6 and 8 when this baby is born. I was a little worried about the 'gap' – as it seems everyone's family has the perfect 2,4,6,8 spread these days!! I've read your post about having kids far apart in ages many times and it had been such an encouragement! I only hope we can have at least 1 more after this.
Congratulations! Blessings to you, your family and the new little baby!!
Sarah! Yay! So happy for you! Congrats. You have to give us more details….. what do the kids think? So so so happy. What a lucky baby he/she is to be coming to your family.
Also, I loved yesterday's post. So appropriate and so what I needed at that time.
I am almost as shocked as when I found out I was having my fifth!! (He just turned 3 months)
I don't know if you remember but a couple of years ago I emailed you about having a fifth. And you were so kind and emailed me back about how much you loved it and you wished you could have one more but it wasn't in the cards. Well, well, well! I am so glad everything is ok and I hope your feeling well!
I am so happy for you!!!!! Didn't it make sending Patrick off to pre-school less devastating? (I know because I felt the same way when I sent Connor off) It is so different having them apart.
Now that I read this post (by the way your blog is my homepage on my computer and I am pretty sure that my husband is going to ban me from the computer once he finds out) I am going to have to listen to my inner voice that keeps telling me not to get rid of all my little girl clothes that I have been packing up. Maybe just wait and see…
Please be sure to write a post about telling the kids! I would love to know what their/Jeff's reaction was!
I can't believe you will be literally sending one "off" as a new one comes! I am already am getting teared up thinking about it. No worries, we will all be here to support you!!
Congratulations Sarah!! You are a wonderful MOther and I love reading your sweet blog! you are a great wxample of Motherhood. I too am the Mother of 5 and often think about one more baby even though i have a 9th grader and my baby is turning 5 soon:) Babies are such a gift!! I couldn't be happier for you!!
I have to tell you that I was so touched by your honesty regarding your previous miscarriages. I am currently pregnant (Due Aug 16 – close to you!), but had 3 miscarriages leading up to this pregnancy after a completely normal prior pregnancy. Reading your story not only gave me good information, but made me feel like I wasn't so alone in that terrible journey. Thanks for your honesty & candor.
Congratulations!!! You and your family are a constant inspiration to me for how I hope my own little family will look someday. I'm so happy for all of you! 🙂
Special announcement indeed. What wonderful news. I'm thrilled for you and your family. I'm sure you will both be blessed. A sweet baby being born into a wonderful family.
Congratulations and best wishes.
So many congratulations to you and your family! I've been a blog stalker for the last couple years and just get so much inspiration from you. This baby is blessed to be joining your family!
I needed to come out of lurkerdom to tell you CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm so happy for you and your wonderful family! I was suspicious based on one of your last sentences on your last post about the size of your family for now. 😉 I'll be keeping you in our prayers!
Congratulations! Our fifth is due two days after yours and we won't be finding out the sex either. Much more fun that way! Here's to a healthy baby and easy pregnancy.
I'm thrilled to hear your exciting news. You are such a wonderful mother. Thank you for being such a wonderful example and being so realistic through the things you share on your blog. I enjoy reading and learning from you. This baby will be blessed to join your home.
I KNEW IT!!!!! When you wrote "See, I'm 43-I've been a mom for 18 years and I've raised five children so far" I knew! Oh my goodness, I am so incredibly happy for you and your family. What joy!!
Oh, Sara! Congratulations!! I am SO excited for you and your sweet family to be able to welcome a new little one. What a LUCKY little one to have you as his/her mommy 🙂 I hope you're feeling well and wish you the best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy. Isn't it nice to be so loved by so many people you've never even met? 🙂 Have a wonderful day!
Congratulations!
I suspected that you were pregnant when I read "…I've raised five children so far." yesterday.
I had number 4 at 41 and number 5 at 43. (So strange because in my 20s and 30s I dealt with stillbirth, m/c and infertility.)
Prayers for you and your little one (and all of your big ones, too)–they must be so excited! This new baby will be SHOWERED with so much love.
You don't know me from Eve, but let me add my congratulations!! I'm SO happy for you…and for us as we'll get to follow your blog and your adventures with the new little one. I'm 41 and due with our 10th little one in July. 🙂
Ahh, one of the few surprises left in life! I bet there might be one family member wishing for a little sister??? Prayers for a healthy pregnancy for both of you!
Beautiful! Your family is so blessed! All of humanity is blessed by this little one! I'd have congratulated you earlier when I sent you the book recommendation in an email, but just now am seeing this.
That is Wonderful!! Congratulations! I know how much the older children will enjoy having a new baby in the house! I hope the summer will be a cool one where you live so it won't be too much of a burden for you.
I had one August baby. We lived in Texas and I made the thinnest dresses to wear that summer. Congratulations again and I hope everything goes well for you!!
Oh my goodness, I don't even know you and I just got goosebumps all over my whole body! What an incredible blessing.
My first is just over 2 months old, but I've been reading your blog for at least a year or two in hopeful anticipation of preparing for motherhood (a long journey that ultimately led to adoption). I can't tell you what a source of inspiration and information your writing has been for me and helped me to feel more secure in my mothering at such an insecure time. You and your family will remain in my prayers!
WOW!!! Congratulations!! Delightful… delightful news.
You will be sending your oldest off to college as you welcome your baby!!! As some one who struggles with being "done" having kids.. I find your happy news interesting and inspiring. All the best from Canada!!
Congratulations to you, dear Sarah! May you have an easy and healthy pregnancy! I can't wait to see what it is – boy or girl. You are such a strong woman! Thanks for your example! Kisses!
I love your blog, everything about it, especially the last post on "I don't know how she does it" and I am so excited for you! I'm pregnant with my fifth (my oldest just turned 6!) so I am excited to read your experiences with a baby at the same time as me. 🙂
I'm over the moon happy for you!! Congratulations, Sarah. I've been in the mom trenches a few years longer than you, but you constantly inspire me and I'm always learning from you. Best wishes to you and your family.
I know that I don't actually "know" you, but I am just so very happy for you!! Your blog is so very practical and no-nonsense and I just think you are a wonderful mother.
WOW! I am surprised but very excited for you and your family! I wasn't expecting you post that today…what a blessing for all of you and new baby too!
Very excited to read all the posts and planning that will come in the next few months. I have been going thru my house for the 40 days/bags and think of you often while I'm doing it.
Sarah~ This is the first time I've actually left a comment but have been reading you for a bit. I was still getting over yesterday's inspiring post…you are my reality check. Absolutely love your blog & all the wonderful info you share with us. Thank you!
And then this news!!! So very happy for you & your family. Congratulations! Hugs. Bridget
Beautiful…nothing better to give your children than another sibling. I was #6 and the last and still love it. Our parents are in Heaven now and we have each other – what a gift.
I had a baby born on August 20th. God be with you.
Congratulations! I look forward to reading about everything leading up to this announcement and about what's to come!
Seconds after I read this, though, I had the oddest reaction. It made me sad! Maybe I'm not done at 5 kids…. (???) I am definitely feeling a tad jealous but also really happy for you and your beautiful family! May God continue to bless you.
Congratulations to you and your family! So exciting. I'm not married yet, but I want to say that as a young Catholic woman you're an inspiration to me for when I have a family.
Congratulations, Sarah!! I too noticed the "…raised five kids so far," comment in yesterday's post as well as the one about "adding another baby" and I wondered if you were expecting or if I was reading into things too much.
I'd love you to dish on all the details–whether this is a surprise pregnancy or carefully planned, and whether it has been difficult emotionally considering your history–but I know these things can be very private and its really none of my business, so I won't ask you to declare all the details. 🙂 I have a similar pregnancy history (though my losses were much earlier than yours), and though I do have 4 children and feel like we're done in many ways (medical, emotional, family dynamic, etc), my "mommy heart will always long for another. 🙂
Yay!!!! Congratulations!!!! You are two weeks behind me, but this is only our first! Hopefully I will gain your wisdom and experience through your writing. Congratulations times a thousand and baby belly hugs to you. 🙂
Congratulations! If ever there is a Mom who should have more, it is you! I'm a few weeks ahead of you and am expecting at the beginning of July, but this will only be #2 for us. I have a boy the same age as your youngest and have enjoyed the fact that you have mentioned particular toddler stages at the same time that I've been experiencing them. How fun that this will continue…!
Oh wow, SO excited for you! You're the mom I wish lived next door to me and your kiddos seem so sweet and definitely well-loved. Can't wait to hear your updates over the next few months.
No way!! Oh my goodness how exciting! Congratulations! You're the mom I want to be and everything you do is so encouraging. May God continue to bless you and your beautiful family!
I am jealous but so excited for you. I have five and have hoped for #6. Congratulations!
PS. My mom had her last baby (#8) at 44 and my dad was 48. I was a freshman in college. I have always had a great relationship with my youngest sister and she has kept my parents young. How wonderful for your family!
No way! No way! No way!!!!!! I am so excited for you. I've been a faithful reader of yours for over 3 years now and Patrick is almost the exact same age as my oldest. I have her, another girl and I am due just a few weeks ahead of you. It will be fun to have virtual baby friends again. Not that they will ever know or care who one another is, but I love watching and learning from a much more seasoned mother while I am just figuring it all out.
I had always just figured you were done, not that you were "done" because you've mentioned that some people know when they are done and some never feel like they are done having children and I always knew deep down you were in the latter camp. I think I am too. But, it just gets harder to conceive as we age (and how sad is it that our bodies decide we are too old for kids and 35, 40, 45…whatever). I'm sure it's with good reason because a 60 year old chasing a toddler sounds exhausting, but I certainly don't think I will feel old when I'm 40. I hope all goes well. I'm over the moon happy FOR you. What a blessing!!!
I recently found your blog & have been going back through the whole history of it a little at a time each night. I love it & find it encouraging & inspiring as a wife, mother, keeper of the house, etc. 🙂 This is wonderful news. I am so happy for you and your family!!
Sarah…I was wondering if I had entered another blog. I didn't expect this one!!! I am over the moon and then some for you and your family. I love the fact that you mother your children so I am double happy with the news…I am 40 and trying for my second. This is such an inspirational post. Take it easy and stop doing so much! Will you fill us in on the details like were you trying for another little one for while or letting come what may? Congratulations again.

Congratulations! What a blessing! I am due for #3 on Aug 18th (a blessing I prayed 4 years for). I can't wait to read your posts since once again my baby will be the same age as yours. Love your blog!
Sarah, the best to your family! You are the most inspirational source of motherhood for me and I can't wait to read while you enjoy the baby stage (again)! Please stick around the blog world – your'e wonderful!
When my last baby was born. His birthday was on July 15th. Then, on July 25th, our daughter turned 18.
It was beautiful.
Wonderful.
Amazing.
With age comes wisdom…
But our requirement for good sleep increases as well. ;o)
This baby is such a blessing and will be a a wonderful gift to add to your family.
And thankfully, with age comes the knowledge that yes, they do indeed grow up, and quite quickly.
So…I know that you will hold on tight and absorb every.single.moment with this new little one.
Best wishes to you and your family. And of course Gods perfect timing!
XO
Congratulations. I so admire people who have large families. I am the oldest of five and my baby sister is fourteen years younger than I am. It gives an amazing flavor and dynamic to our family. You and your husband have been truly blessed. And you are one of my heros. I love your perpsective to motherhood.
I wonder if anyone is thinking what I'm thinking…that is – I was secretly planning on watching your example as you navigated through this next (post little people) stage of life. Thinking that I'd get tips from you about how to deal with letting that special part of life go. Now instead today I've found myself visiting that place in the back of my mind that says, "don't let it go yet – have one more." Ha ha. There is just nothing like welcoming a family member into this world is there? Congrats to you.
AAAHHHHH!!!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!! I had a feeling when i read yesterdays post and you talked about "raising 5 children so far" What wonderful news!
Wonderful news! Congrats to you and your family! I'm excited to read about the adventures with your new addition. Thanks for the wonderful post yesterday too – I needed to hear that!
Sarah…I was not expecting this post! It is such wonderful news! Congratulations! !! You are an inspiration and hope for us 40 and over. I am trying for number 2 at 40 after a miscarriage 6 months ago. I am over the moon as a virtual Auntie!!! I am most excited for you because you seem to be a wonderful mother who actually mothers your own children. This is the second best blog news as Katie from Bower Power announced her pregnancy (I think she follows your blog). Take it easy and slow down with all the house duties! Don't wear yourself out!!! Are you going to give details how you found out..how you told your husband…your children? Were you planning this for some time? Please share what is comfortable of course. I have only posted a couple times to your blog but felt I had to comment…sonia
Yay! Congratulations Sarah, I'm so thrilled for you from "over the pond" here in England. I did wonder yesterday when I read "I've raised five children so far…" and I was right.
Sarah
I have been waiting for this post, I just knew it was coming!
(Okay that might sound weird cause I don't know you, but seriously, I've been thinking this for ages! Must be our Irish link 😉 )
I noticed the "five kids so far too…" call me a snoop, but I wondered 🙂 congratulations and thank u so much for writing and encouraging those of us behind u.
Hp-Hip-Horray!!! I am so thrilled for you and your family. I can't wait to follow you through this journey. You are such an inspiration to me. I hope you are feeling a okay. You are in my thoughts.
How wonderful! Congrats to your entire family! I found you when I was pregnant with our now-19-month-old little boy and have treasured your blog the whole way … Thanks always. xo
Congratulations Sarah! I'm very happy for you and your family and only a little bit jealous. My hubby called it quits at two. 🙁
There are currently 265 comments here so you'll probably never see this question, but I'm curious: what does your husband do? You have such a large family, all in private school, in an expensive part of the country, and you have a beautiful house and vacation at the beach each year.
You do a great job explaining what you don't do (volunteering, etc.) in order to mother five children, but I always wonder how you can afford it. Private info, I know.
I wondered based on a recent comment of yours if you were pregnant. How exciting! We just had our 4th and emotionally I could have 10 more. Practically, not so much. Congratulations!!!
i am so so thrilled for you. i don't know what it means, but i am feeling jealous…wishing i had 6 kids. i am one of 6 and it was the best gift my parents ever gave me. i'm not sure if i'm woman enough to have two more. YOU ARE!! take care of yourself.
Congratulations to you and your family! As I have grown up I have realized how family truly is the bst gift we can have. I am one of 11 children and truly cherish it. My parents started having children when my mom was 18 and stopped when she was 44. I cherish my siblings, and know you children with too. So often, I find myself reading your blog to get me back on an even plane so to speak. So many many thanks!
Congratulations!!! I was almost as shocked when I read your post as I was when my 40 yr old friend at church announced her pregnancy. After her announcement, I started begging my hubby for another. So far it's a no, but hey God has bigger plans and if it's in his plan it will happen. I hope you have a wonderful pregnancy.
Sarah, I am absolutely thrilled for you! Congratulations to you and your precious family. I know this baby is already so well-loved.
As a fairly new mother, I would love to hear in a future post perhaps how you have evolved as a mother over the years. Were you the same kind of mother when Isaac was born as you are today or were there some big lessons you had to learn to bring you where you now (with your wonderful mothering skills!). I hope that makes sense. I look up to you so much and admire you as a fellow mother. I would love to know what life was like for you when you only had children who were not yet school age (and didn't have those years of experience under your belt)?
sarah – I realize that my comment will be one of hundreds and hundreds but i could not let the opportunity pass with out telling you congratulations. so so very happy for you and your family. do you know what i loved the most about your simple post? there were no excuses. nothing saying "whoops". nothing but – we are over the moon. thank you for being a champion of large families. thank you for being a cheerleader for motherhood. the simple kind. the maybe a little old fashioned kind. thank you. here's to hoping that you are past the ginger ale and saltine stage. Danee
Oh my goodness!! Happy day for you all! I'm holding my second and last kiddo right now. I've been blessed with my son and now my daughter. I admire your dedication to your profession and depend on you to keep me focused. Your family is lucky to have you!! P. S. I hope it's a girl 😉

You are so refreshing. All the best as you prepare for this littlest one of your precious family. You are a great storyteller so if it's not too private, let us in on the story of the beginnings of this new life. You always inspire and make me laugh too. At 42 with 4 I am now closing that chapter of my life but oh how your news bring me joy.
Sarah..I didn't expect this post. Congratulations!!! You are an inspiration to all of us in addition to us 40+ old wanting to add to our families. I am 40 and want a second child after a miscarriage 6 months ago. I am over the moon with you to be a virtual Auntie! Even more happy for someone who actually parents their children and proud to be a homemaker. This is the second best news from a blogger this week. Katie at Bower Power just announced her pregnancy (I think she follows your blog). Are you going to fill us in on the details such as..how did you find out your were pregnant, how did you tell Jeff and the kids? Were you planning for some time now to have more children? Share what you are comfortable with but us readers would like to know.
awwwwww Sarah! My heart is so overwhelmed with joy for you and your family. What a beautiful, precious gift. I am so thankful for you and the way you share your life. Many blessings to you!
yippeee!!!!! sarah, what a blessing! so happy for you! what a lucky child that baby is :))) yay! yay! yay! i am due June 16th, so glad to finish out this journey knowing you are on the same one! congrats and ALL the BEST to you and your precious family!!!
Congrats! How exciting!
Thanks for sharing your heart with us, and giving me the courage to be the mom I want to be. I find so much encouragement in your posts. Hope there wasn't alot of baby stuff in one of those 40 bags! 🙂
Congratulations!! We thought we were going to have our 6th in June, but it turns out we are having our 6th and 7th at the same time…mostly likely in May instead. 2 boys this time! I cannot wait to follow you guys through this newest blessing of an adventure!
Wha?!!!!! What a happy little surprise! I am excited that such a wonderful dedicated mom is blessed with another sweet baby. You are such a great example!
What wonderful news!!! I love reading your blog and admire you as a mother…what a lucky baby he/she is! We are praying for #6 now, but I am still nursing #5 so not much is happening 🙂 I will just have to live vicariously through you. I pray you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!
WOW! I seriously wasn't sure if I was reading this news correctly and then I had to double-check which blog I was reading (I usually read posts from the Google Reader) and then I finally had to read the comments to see if this news was really true and not an early April Fools joke! 🙂 And now I can't wipe the grin from my face! In all seriousness, you don't know me from Adam either but I just had to tell you that this news seriously made my day and I am so so so happy for you and your family. Especially because I know how much you love children and because you are such a good mother and if anyone should have 6 kids it's you! I love your blog and relish the "advice" you are always providing. Time and again you have really made me think and I like to think you are making me a better mother (I only have 1 son and 1 daughter on the way, so far :-)). CONGRATULATIONS!!
Congrats!!! You are the one blog I allow myself daily. Thank you so much for all of the smart things you say. You are the kind of mom I want to be like.
Took me like 5 hours to scroll through all of the comments! 😉 Sarah – congrats! I found your blog many moons ago, when Patrick was so very little. I am thrilled for you and your family.
Congrats! I read this last night on my phone, then had a dream about you and your whole family. I dreamt you invited me over to hang out (you lived next door to me) and the first words out my mouth were "I'm pregnant too!" (I am, but only 7 weeks). You taught me how to harden butterflies by painting their wings with rubber cement then you put them on your pizza! It was crazy! There's much more to it but you know how dreams can be….hard to explain. Anyway, just wanted to stop and comment since I hardy ever do these days. I am so thrilled for you and your family. You are due the same time as my sister. What a lovely year for babies!
Oh my goodness! Congratulations! What wonderful news. I'm so happy for your whole family and can't wait to read more about your pregnancy and how you all are integrating this precious little baby into your already beautiful family. (And to see how you decorate for the baby!)
I'm due with my first in a month (I also don't know if it's a he or she) and as a longtime reader, I have always been so inspired by your parenting and life philosophy. I'm glad I'll have you to (virtually) walk along side me through the newborn stage.
Congratulations! We just had our sixth baby (and 2nd girl) in January. Wishing you all the best. I love your blog – so many of your posts are about things I think about often.
Your post on Tuesday has still been on my mind, and then to throw in this exciting news on top of it- great week on Clover Lane!!! Congratulations and best wishes for a wonderful pregnancy.
I'm sitting here with an OPEN MOUTH! I could not be more happy for you! Thrilling, wonderful news. Beautiful baby already. (Love your blog, love you, want to be one of your children in my next life)
Thrilled for you and just a little envious. (I have four and we have ummed and aahed about #5.)
I think it is fantastic that you are having another and it gives me hope 🙂
Congratulations on your new baby, I think it is awesome that you choose to share the news with us your readers. May God bless your baby and your family
Congratulations!!!!!!!! This made my day!!!! I love your blog and have been reading for a couple years. I cannot wait to follow you through this newest miracle!!
Congrats!!! I am due August 21st with our first. You are the fourth blogger I read on a regular basis that is due that week!
I think there is something in the water…
This is such exciting news congrats! You are famous around here. My mom was the one that told me you were prego & I got so excited then my kiddos said who is having a baby? They thought it was weird that we were talking about someone we didn't know haha. Congrats & good luck!
I just had our sixth baby in December. Our baby girl Eliza is such a wonderful blessing. I have the same gender order as you… up through Patrick. Maybe this trend will continue! Six is a breeze ;o)
So exciting!!! Congrats!!
As a faithful follower, I'd like to say WOW!!! Congratulations. I am so happy for you. I have six myself but you are such a wonderful mother and I admire you.
Sarah!!!!!! I don't even know you and am so incredibly thrilled for you! I have tears in my eyes. Congratulations!!! How wonderful.
Fantastic news! Congratulations!!
yaaaaaahoo! HOW EXCITING! WHAT A JOY! this is so cool..congratulations to you, your husband, and the whole family! We are just 3 weeks apart!
I'm sure the nesting phase of pregnancy came just in time for the 40 bags in 40 days!
No way! I will live vicariously through you; that is awesome news!
This is fantastic news! Congratulations! I just gave birth about 11 days ago to our sixth… Babies are the best!
Congrats! What a lucky little baby!
Congratulations!! That's so exciting!
What wonderful news! Congratulations!
So happy for you!!!!
What a blessing for that baby to come to your family. 🙂
Join the ranks of a mother of 6.
You will be great.
Congrats! That little one will be so lucky to call you mother.
Congratulations!
I am so very thrilled for you!
So exciting, Sarah! I am truly happy for you! This little baby is joining such a special family and a truly special mom.
On your last post, you wrote "See, I'm 43-I've been a mom for 18 years and I've raised five children so far". When you wrote "so far", I started to think… 🙂
I was right! 🙂 So fun!
I am over-the-moon happy for you…forget Beyonce and Jay Z. Sarah from Clover Lane is my celebrity of choice and I am so happy! 🙂

I just had to say CONGRATULATIONS one more time:)

Congrats! I can't wait to hear more in the months to come about your pregnancy and having a newborn! So happy for you.

I'm so happy you have the courage to have more when so many people are saying less to families. Congratulations!
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you, and so thrilled for the sweet baby that is lucky enough to be born into your home. This is such exciting news. I am hoping and praying for number 4 to join our family soon. Sadly, I don't think my body is going to hold out for six.
Congratulations! All the best to you and your family.
Oh wow! Congratulations to you! I caught that "…raised 5 children so far." comment earlier this week. So excited for you!

Congratulations! We had our sixth when our oldest was 17 and our youngest was 4. Now we have a little 3 year old. I could never imagine our family any other way. What a blessing. I am so happy for you!

I, too, thought that comment about raising 5 kids—so far—was a little FUNNY! NO WONDER!!!
So happy for you…
Oh wow! I was too wondering about the "raising 5 kids… So far" was funny. Congratulations!
Congrats!
Congratulations! Hope everything goes smoothly. 🙂

In your last post when you said, "….so far" I wondered if that meant room for more, because I was hoping! Congratulations! What a blessing, and I will pray for you to feel good. I hope things haven't been too rough!
Congratulation!!!! This is such a wonderful surprise! I love your blog and think this is the best new of the day.
When you made the "so far" comment the other day, I had a feeling!!! Congratulations Sarah and family!
Oh Sarah! One phrase you wrote yesterday made me think–I'm not sure she's done yet! And I'm so excited for you and your family. There's no better place for a new soul to land. Congratulations!
Congratulations! That wonderful news!
Congratulations! I have to say I had my suspicions yesterday when you said "I've raised 5 kids so far". Such exciting news.

What a great surprise to read your news this morning!
Congratulations to all of you – what a wonderful gift to give your children ~ a new sibling!
(*I'm guessing a GIRL, btw!)
I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU GUYS!!!! how cool is that. a baby to snuggle… precious. congrats!!!
Sarah! Yay! So happy for you! Congrats. You have to give us more details….. what do the kids think? So so so happy. What a lucky baby he/she is to be coming to your family.
Also, I loved yesterday's post. So appropriate and so what I needed at that time.
Get some rest momma!
WHAAAAAAT?!!!
Sorry so long…just so excited!!!
Congratulations!
Congratulations! I'm expecting my 2nd just a few weeks before you. Your thoughts about parenting and family are such an inspiration to me. Thank you!
OH MY GOSH!!! CONGRATS!! so exciting!! hope you are feeling well!!
And all this time you let me be sick, pregnant, cranky mom alone?? Oh, I'm so excited for you all … Congratulations!
Congrats!!! What a blessing!
Congrats again!
Congrats! I don't know you personally, but I feel like I do from reading your blog, and I am so excited for you!!
Oh my goodness!!'. What a lovely surprise announcement! Congratulations to you and your family.

Adrienne
What really lovely news. Congratulations to you and your family.
Congratulations!!
What joy!!
xxxx

So happy for you!! Blessings to you and your little one!!
Wowsers!!!! You did it!!! I am AMAZED and SO thrilled for you…. slightly jealous too. I love you, you wonderful mama!
WOW! I'm thrilled for you all! Praying for everything to go smoothly. Congratulations Sarah!
Congratulations!!! I LOVE your blog and have been a secret reader for a few years. So exciting for you to bring home another baby!
How exciting! Congrats!

What a wonderful blessing. I hope things go well for you and the new babe.
Congratulations to you… and your beautiful family! That is the best news!
Wonderful News! Lucky Baby! 🙂 Congratulations!
Congrats, again, and enjoy!!
I'm another faithful reader who never comments but I just had to say…Congratulations!! So exciting! I'm so happy for your whole family.
Joyful news! Congrats to you, your hubby, and your family!
Congratulations to you and your family!
Yay!!!! Congratulations!!! God bless you!!! (We just had our 6th too)
No way!! Oh my goodness how exciting! Congratulations! You're the mom I want to be and everything you do is so encouraging. May God continue to bless you and your beautiful family!
Congratulations! SUCH exciting news! You are a super momma, that's for sure! =)
p.s–what a perfect shaped little head your baby has! =)
WOOHOOOOOO!!!
Oh wow! wow! congratulations! unbelievable
Congrats!! What a lucky baby to come to your family. God bless.
Oh my goodness, congratulations!!! What a lucky little guy or girl! God bless!
Congratulations! I think that this is my first time commenting, but I wanted to wish you well!!!
Such wonderful news!!! Congratulations to the whole family.
that's wonderful! so happy for you and your family! prayers coming your way for a healthy happy pregnancy and birth! 🙂
No way!
Congratulations! I envy you getting to go thru those baby stages all over again. Such a miracle and a blessing. Enjoy!
ohhhhh my goodness!! i have a huge smile on my face. so happy for you!!!!!
That baby is so blessed to be coming to your family. What wonderful news, this really thrilled me….
Love this! Congratulations!
Whoa!!!! Congratulations!!
I recently found your blog & have been going back through the whole history of it a little at a time each night. I love it & find it encouraging & inspiring as a wife, mother, keeper of the house, etc. 🙂 This is wonderful news. I am so happy for you and your family!!
Wow…congratulations. I've got to hand it to you, but two were certainly enough for me. Really rounds our your family picture. My best to you all!
How exciting!! So happy for you!

You know, in your last post I saw how you said…"I have raised five children so far"…and I thought, "I bet she's pregnant!"!!!
Congrats!!! I'm also 18 weeks, due on August 19th!
What wonderful news! I am thrilled for you!!
Congratulations! What a blessing! I am due for #3 on Aug 18th (a blessing I prayed 4 years for). I can't wait to read your posts since once again my baby will be the same age as yours. Love your blog!
Wow, that's such special news! All the best with the rest of your pregnancy.
CONGRATULATIONS! I am so happy for you and your family! Can't wait to meet this new little blessing. :0)
xoxo
Joni
Congratulations! Patrick will no longer be the baby!
I knew it from the title!! Congratulations – that's one lucky baby. This world needs more kids with moms like YOU! xx
Congratulations! What a wonderful blessing! I always love reading your blog you are very admirable.
I wondered yesterday when you said 5 kids "so far". Congrats!
Congratulations! What a blessing.
Congratulations!
Wow! I'm so excited for you! My 8 year old son says he hopes it's twins, and his twin sisters hopes it's a girl for Abbey.
Congratulations. You are nothing but a supermom and inspiration.

BEST BEST news ever!!! I just read it and e-mailed you. I am THRILLED Sarah!!! So happy for you!
Congrats!!! You had one sentence in a post recently that made me stop and go "I bet she's pregnant" and then sure enough! wow!
Oh WOW! Congrants and I love your blog. It's the first one I check daily.
congratulations! what an exciting thing for your family!!
WOW — congratulations Sarah and to the rest of the family as well! Awesome!
Yay! Congratulations Sarah, I'm so thrilled for you from "over the pond" here in England. I did wonder yesterday when I read "I've raised five children so far…" and I was right.
Sarah
I am so happy for you!!
I have been waiting for this post, I just knew it was coming!
(Okay that might sound weird cause I don't know you, but seriously, I've been thinking this for ages! Must be our Irish link 😉 )
Congratulations! I'm a regular reader but I rarely comment. What wonderful news for your family!
I noticed the "five kids so far too…" call me a snoop, but I wondered 🙂 congratulations and thank u so much for writing and encouraging those of us behind u.
Wow! So exciting! Congratulations!!!
I have been a quiet follower of your blog since Patrick was a baby. I am so happy for you that I got tears in my eyes. 🙂 Congratulations!
So happy for you! CONGRATS!!!
What wonderful news. Blessings to you and to your whole family. This baby will be well loved.
Congratulations!! This is so exciting and I am hoping that you have not been as sick as in the past :(.
I'm so happy for you and your family! I hope you're feeling well and I can't wait to hear all about it this coming year!
Hp-Hip-Horray!!! I am so thrilled for you and your family. I can't wait to follow you through this journey. You are such an inspiration to me. I hope you are feeling a okay. You are in my thoughts.
How wonderful! Congrats to your entire family! I found you when I was pregnant with our now-19-month-old little boy and have treasured your blog the whole way … Thanks always. xo
Wow! Congratulations 🙂
Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you and your family! What a special blessing this sweet baby will be!
aaah! So exciting! That baby is soo lucky!
Best wishes and congratulations!
Got a little teary … congratulations!!
SO very happy and excited for you! Wow!!!!!!
you are such a beautiful role model and mother and blogging friend. Congrats to you and your growing family!
praise God!
I wondered based on a recent comment of yours if you were pregnant. How exciting! We just had our 4th and emotionally I could have 10 more. Practically, not so much. Congratulations!!!
Just when I was catching up to you! My number five is due in August. Congrats!!!!
i am so so thrilled for you. i don't know what it means, but i am feeling jealous…wishing i had 6 kids. i am one of 6 and it was the best gift my parents ever gave me. i'm not sure if i'm woman enough to have two more. YOU ARE!! take care of yourself.
Woot! I love that this announcement follows yesterday's post.
I think, in this case, that Napoleon Dynamite says it best, "LUCKY!" What exciting news! I am thrilled for you.
Lucky little baby! Congratulations!

How wonderful!!!!! We are "due date buddies". 🙂
God bless you!!

sarah – I realize that my comment will be one of hundreds and hundreds but i could not let the opportunity pass with out telling you congratulations. so so very happy for you and your family. do you know what i loved the most about your simple post? there were no excuses. nothing saying "whoops". nothing but – we are over the moon. thank you for being a champion of large families. thank you for being a cheerleader for motherhood. the simple kind. the maybe a little old fashioned kind. thank you. here's to hoping that you are past the ginger ale and saltine stage.

A million congratulations and hugs too! I'm as thrilled for you as if I knew you in person!
BTW..take it easy now. I hope the 40 days 40 bags is over!!! Time for maid service.
Wow, congrats!!!
awwwwww Sarah! My heart is so overwhelmed with joy for you and your family. What a beautiful, precious gift. I am so thankful for you and the way you share your life. Many blessings to you!

Congratulations!
Congrats! How exciting!
Thanks for sharing your heart with us, and giving me the courage to be the mom I want to be. I find so much encouragement in your posts. Hope there wasn't alot of baby stuff in one of those 40 bags! 🙂
Aww! Congratulations!
Sarah, congratulations!! I'm due August 18th with our first 🙂
What wonderful news!!!
What a thrill to see all these exciting comments for you and your family! Congratulations! I'm truly so happy for you!!
Congratulations!!!
Congrats!!! You are the one blog I allow myself daily. Thank you so much for all of the smart things you say. You are the kind of mom I want to be like.
Congratulations Sarah!!! Nesting certainly helps 40 bags, 40 days!
I gave birth to our 9th child when I was 43 and our oldest child was 18! Fun times!
I am so excited for!!!! congrats!!!!!
August 20 is MY birthday, but I'm very happy to share. Mazel tov!

I'm due with my first in a month (I also don't know if it's a he or she) and as a longtime reader, I have always been so inspired by your parenting and life philosophy. I'm glad I'll have you to (virtually) walk along side me through the newborn stage.
Oh Sarah! Yeah! I'm so excited for you and this new little soul who gets to come to your family. This is happy happy news. Love, Saydi
