Gratitude For The Week

(my burst-of-energy straightened garage/mudroom)

Today I am grateful for:

1. Energy.  I cleaned, straightened, got out winter coats and boots, baked bread, put away Halloween things, organized my Christmas list and a heck of a bunch of other things.  Sometimes I get these great big bursts of energy and this week was one of them.  Health is not something to ever take for granted.

2. On Thursday Abbey had an early dismissal and Jeff picked her up and we all went out to lunch.  One on one time is the best.

3. Beautiful crisp days where I can look at blue skies and breathe fresh air.  I am trying to do that as much as I can because I know pretty soon I will be gazing at a gray sky every day.

Love your tidy garage/mudroom. I'm looking to order a skip and getting stuck in to our garage week after next when Claire has the week off and I won't be looking after Alice. Wish me luck!

I love when I get those bursts, although they are far too rare or maybe I squander them on less productive things!

This week I am so grateful for ordinary days, of which we aren't experiencing right now so I appreciate them even more than usual and can't wait until we have one.

I am SO thankful for family and friends who have sheltered us while we still go without power, almost a full week now.

I am thankful for my stalwart husband who continues to stay in a freezing cold house to keep tabs on the animals while the children and I stay in warm and powered places. He refuses to switch places with me for even a night.

So glad to see someone else using their garage as a mudroom although mine isn't nearly as organized and I only have three boys. Have a great weekend.

    Oh your garage looks awesome!
We cleaned ours out last weekend, but we could really use some more organizational wall stuff!!:)
I've had my fair share of energy bursts this week too. I think it might be the thought of all the company that we are going to have this Christmas…our to-do list is growing! But it's a great motivator.:)
Glad you and your husband got some time alone with Abby, those moments are priceless.
    have a happy day sarah

Looks amazing in there. I know what you mean about bursts of energy. Just wish I had them more often.

Do you park in your garage? Is that indoor outdoor carpet? Just wondering–my husband loves a tidy garage but we park in there and have 7 bikes, a workbench, toys, sports stuff and other paraphernalia that just seem to make it so crowded.

Sarah your right, health is one of the most important things in life that we all sometimes take for granted. The top things I value in life are health, love, safety, peace and joy. If I have all of those things in my life, then I have it all! A warm roof over my head, the love and health of family and friends = joy and peace. The bare necessities.

I don't know what I am more jealous of your garage or your bursts of energy. I am in week 36 with number 5 and number four is just in full tilt to play with me. Starting pre-school definitely gave him that need for more creative interplay at home. All but one of us have had chest/head colds and I swear halloween almost pushed me over the edge. I long to have a burst of anything!! I can't even begin to explaing to you what our garage looks like seeing I squished everything in on one side last weekend so I could have room to park during our Halloween snow storm. I just want to lay down on the couch. You go girl and I will live through you. Next year it will all be a distant memory….and hopefully my garage will be as organized as yours!

Oh my goodness, that mudroom is beautiful. Is it strange that my first thought was, I'd like to live in there? And my home isn't even that messy! Organization just warms my heart.

    Happy weekend!

OK according to other commenters (I guess that is what we are called)and myself I think a post on your mudroom/garage is in order. 🙂 It looks amazing.

My husband has our garage REALLY organized which is awesome but I'd love the locker type shelving that you have. Do you use it for a car at all. We put one car in our garage due to Michigan winters. AND….we must know what is in the white containers above.

BTW Umm, do you need any more basketballs???? Ha!!!

Ha, apparently Patrick wasn't interested in riding IN the little car? And like the previous commenter I was thinking you might need to get a basketball or two in Spring. 🙂

The garage/mudroom looks awesome! What a great space. We cleaned ours out a few weeks back prior to our neighborhood garage sale. With two older girls now, we don't have so much stuff. Love those days with a burst of energy…I could use one right about now. Need to start working on my Christmas list too.
Thankful this week that our youngest got a good report on her MRI and she got accepted to college #2, Go Baylor Bears!
