Apples and Pot Lucks

1. Thank you so much for your suggestions for books for Andrew.  I ordered several of them, and I think we are off to a good start.  It is sometimes so hard to find books for younger boys isn’t it?  Or maybe it’s just because I’m a girl and know the go-to girl books.

2. Early apples are out, did you know?  Jersey Mac’s are my favorite.  They are crisp and sour-ish and give you a stomach ache if you eat more than six in a day.  How would I know?  Oh, I know.

3. Abbey and her friends had a pot luck at the park the other day.  I think that is the cutest thing ever.  She and her friend built a cake.

I hear ya sista with all the debt ceiling talks…sick and tired of it all. Love the cake Abbey and her friend made–such a cute idea for the kids to have a pot luck at the park. 🙂

"I don't know, build her a cake or something." I love Pedro!
Just a side from your last post, I saw that someone recommended the Ready Freddy series. In my experience, I don't like those books for my kids. Freddy and his sister are always fighting and calling each other names. It is just ugly.

Seriously, loved your post! #2 had me laughing out loud! I could use some mom math to get us through this next year. $50,000 student loan, over 100 applications and resumes sent out and not a single job offer.

Gorgeous apple photo and what a sweet cake. I'll tell you, I'm just glad my lot in life was not to be a politician. Four people are enough for me to keep happy.

I bet you'd do a better job solving America's debt problem than any of those politicians! No joke.

Great post! I agree with you and the debt ceiling. Give it to a couple of mom's and the entire thing will be settled in no time. Good grief!

Love the cake — too darn cute!

Yes ! I wonder if ANY of those politicians have ever been on a budget ! Have they ever had to cut back on anything ? I agree – Washington needs more moms with common sense.

Oh Sarah…you have just made my day with this post. Mostly because I feel exactly the same about #2 there and on #4, I laughed out loud. That is the first question out of my kiddos mouths when I tell them they have doctors appts. We just finished 4 dental appts today and had yearly physicals last week.
    So here's what we have:
    5 dental appts.
    4 yearly physicals
    3 cavity fillings
    2 vaccines AND
a partridge in a pear tree.

Or I want to say, "Here, give me that gosh darn budget, I'll just do it myself." Laughing so hard.

But I second your motion. I think you could do a better job than all these splintered politicians back in my favorite city. Man!
