It’s officially fall here…not because the calendar says it is, because the leaves say it is.

It is beautiful.

019

Our church: 025 031 042 059 064 068 070 079 Abbey calls this “her house”.  I want it to be her house. After she travels the world and lives in Chicago or NYC or Paris.

Isn’t it perfect?

You could live it in forever.

With one child or eight, it would be warm, and inviting, and comfortable and simple.090 093Oops.  The squirrels around here get a little crazy at this time of year.  Many casualties.  Sometimes they dare each other I think, to see who can run between car tires, or jump from telephone wire to branch and back again.  It doesn’t always work out so great.100102 After our bike ride, Abbey and I took Patrick down the street to a little park.  I’ve done Abbey’s portraits this year, and Andrew’s, and it was Patrick’s turn.  I’m saving the two that declare that picture-taking is complete torture for last.258261

Here’s the park:264 249 251 I took a few good ones.108 118Notice the big chunk cut out of his hair in the front?  I didn’t know he knew how to work scissors already.  Smart kid.128 159

I also got many more out takes.  2 isn’t the easiest age for picture taking.220 120  160189 He’s so cute I could squeeze him.

And I do, all the time.

GREAT photos! This is on my list of things to get better at. Patrick is growing and changing isn't he? Turning into a full fledged little boy! Fall looks beautiful in your neck of the woods.

I love that you captured his DIY haircut. I have pics of my kids like that w/ scrapes and bruises, big green cast on the arm for first day of school etc. We like to capture them just the way they were then. This will be, "look Patrick! This was right after you gave yourself a haircut!" 🙂

Those pictures of Patrick? Be still my beating heart! I showed that last one to my husband and we decided we just might have to "try" for a boy someday (four girls). Heartmelter!!

I love autumn (the foliage, the food!). I used to live in Missoura as a teenager and it was gorgeous during autumn. Seattle autumns aren't half bad, either.

Absolutely beautiful photographs!!! Your family is lovely, and your town seems so charming!

On another note, every time I see a squirrel dart out, I always think, "Go, go, go! And for pete's sake, DON'T DOUBLE-BACK, LITTLE SQUIRREL! That's how casualties happen!" I think that particular squirrel double-backed. 🙁

Love your pictures. Patrick is becoming such a handsome little (big) guy! Abbey is gorgeous and what a cute house she picked out. Maybe you should encourage her to write a letter of admiration and drop it in the mailbox so she may have the chance to live there one day. 🙂

Great pics – except the squirrel of course – gross! LOL. I feel so grateful to have a fall like the one you have pictured. Sure wouldn't be the same living somewhere without all of the color changes. Thanks for sharing… and reminding me it's time to get out there and take some pics myself!

By the way, have you already told us what camera you use? Also, I would love to know what lense you used for Patrick's portraits. I'm looking to upgrade my camera gear. Many thanks.

The more I see of your neighborhood the more convinced I become that I NEED to live there!

And your photos of the little guy are fantastic – love the dimple.

p.s. – You should frame the photo of your church and hang it. Gorgeous.
