Yikes! This is exactly why I'm an Auntie and not a Mom! LOL I would be insane with worry. I'm so weak. Lovely tree, great boys, what a nice evening.

That's hilarious! What's really funny is that, when I first looked at picture #1, I thought your son had a hockey stick up in that tree with him. I was impressed he could climb so high with the hockey stick, and was having fun imagining what HE was imagining that involved hockey sticks in treetops…until picture #2 revealed it was just a branch. I guess that's because I'm always discovering MY son in trees with objects that cause me to yell up onto the treetops, "Don't drop that! You'll kill someone! What are you doing up there with that?" Apparently this has made me suspicious of any boy in a tree?

Tree-climbers are the best… even though they give their mothers hold their breaths until they're safely on the ground! Reilly got caught in a tree in her Easter dress this year. Easy going up… not so easy coming down!

Wow- that's really high! I looked at the first photo before scrolling down to see the others and focused on the little one on the ground. Then I was admiring your lovely tree and thought, "Holy moly, there's a child up there." Bet he had a good view. And your front yard/house is very picturesque.

How fun….and high. That boy may become a mountain climber…or a firefighter that goes up on ladders.

Your home and yard are beautiful and you are very brave. I would have been very nervous for the tree climbers ! Clearly they were fine and knew what they were doing!

Your kids are such sweeties! I might have a hearty-tack if I saw him up there though…major fear of heights for me. He looks perfectly comfortable in the clouds though!

I have a question. Do you know of any photographers in Seaside that you would suggest? I want to have my daughters 2 year photos taken while there in June but I really need someone who isn't going to break the bank.

Oh my word! My heart would have jumped out of my chest if I saw my daughters up there, lol! As it is I was scared for your little guy! My oldest is also a tree monkey but since she is in a panda bear stage (obsessed more like it!) she prefers to "lay on the limbs like a lazy panda" – her words – instead of climb for the time being, ha! I need to get some pictures of her, thanks for the idea! 🙂

Just read an article that said kids are 32% less likeyly to climb a tree as compared to when their mother's were young! Guess it doesn't apply to your kids…YES to outdoor fun 🙂

I love the sequencing of your shots… you wise sage. You knew what was going to go down. The look of triumph joy, then the glance downwards as he realizes his pridicament, then the look of sheer panic, priceless. I'm glad your calm enough after five kids to take pictures… I would have puked. Screamed actually, then puked. I also don't have a resident rescuer either(handsome too!). This is why I read your blog. Parental coping skills 101.

P.S. I love your tree! It looks like cotton candy!

No what I make of this is that he got scared and your other son had to go up and get him. Is that what happened?

Easier to get up then to get down….

Beatiful tree! I too have a tree climber that climbs the tree to hang out – do homework, spy on siblings, etc. We finally made the rule he wasn't allowed to go any higher than the rooftop of the house. If he was looking down on the roof, he had to go to a lower branch to hang out. Still makes me nervous, but at least the fall wouldn't be quite as far:)

Okay, beautiful tree. What a treat to walk out too. And those boys are too cute. My little guys is drawn to our tree out front as well. Immediately runs over to it and starts climbing.
