Catching Up

1. Finish up the laundry.

2. Pack for a family vacation…5 days x 7 people=42 outfits. Because Patrick goes through three outfits a day. (No, the math still isn’t right, I KNOW.)

3. Clean the house. Because who likes to come home from a vacation to a dirty house.

On another note:

Abbey is starting sewing lessons today! I wanted to take them with her, but the very strict lady wouldn’t let me. Children only. They progress from very beginner to designing and making clothes. Abbey’s nervous about sewing her fingers to the machine. I am nervous for her.

I'm packing today too! Well, actually, first I have to wash the clothes, then I can pack them… I'm not going to my mother's house, so I can't show up with a suitcase of DIRTY clothes! Sewing lessons – that's awesome! Can't wait to see her creations!

Not to scare Abby, but I did that. :)Didn't hurt too bad. Just have to remember to put the foot down!

I love the picture of Patrick at the sink! That is so cute that Abbey is taking sewing lessons, what a great skill to learn. I hope she has fun. And I hope you have fun on vacation.

I am totally with you on #3. My mom taught me that a long time ago and definitely have fresh, clean sheets on the bed which makes coming home so much less stressful.

I love the photo of your little guy at the sink! Our 2 year old loves to play in the sink too. And yes, having a clean home to return to after vacation is a must for me. Finally, yay for sewing lessons! How exciting!

Love that photo and I can't wait to hear what Abbey learns and makes in sewing class…I am so excited for her. I have that same worry…don't sew my fingers!

Enjoy your vacation. And I should be cleaning my house too…I just don't feel like it.

We're doing the same thing here – only 4 people to prepare for though.
Sewing lessons, huh? Great idea. Wish I would have had those.

I thought I was the only one who cleaned before vacation. I love coming home to a tidy place, then slowly watching it transform itself into HOME. Have a wonderful getaway!

What a sweet little helper you have. I'm not sure how he needs you to pack him any clothes. The diaper look suits him 😉

I understand the chaos before a trip. We are taking one ourselves and my washing machine was broken for 4 days. I'm still playing catch-up.

It's so hard getting ready for vacation and cleaning the house at the same time!!!!!!!! But there is nothing like the feeling of a clean house when you return. Hope you are able to relax and enjoy your time away!!!

do you have to pack for your two oldest? one's in high school, right? if not, 5 people x 5 days, or 25 outfits is already sounding alot better than 42!

Oh, yeah the vacation prep, I'm right in the middle of it. House clean ~check, laundry done ~check, packed ~almost!!! Sometimes I wonder if its worth all the work…yep, definately!
Good luck with the sewing. I am glad I learned when I was young. My daughter is BEGGING me to teach her…sounds like a good project for the really hot days!

My husband does NOT understand how I clean like crazy before we go on vacation. You get it–no need to explain. However, if I had 42 clothings changes to launder, I don't know how much cleaning I'd get done.

Your picture of Patrick at the sink reminds me of so many times my boys stood at our sink to 'help' with the dishes. It usually involved washing the cabinets, the floor…. Have a great trip!

How did you find someone to teach Abbey sewing lessons? My oldest daughter would love to take lessons, but I don't even know how to begin to find someone to teach her.
