On top of being terribly camera shy, I am always behind the camera around here anyways. But after reading Saydi's message on the Power of Moms site, I think I need to get a little better-just once in awhile-at being IN the picture. Without putting up a hand to block the lens, or running away, or saying, "No, I look terrrribbble, just get the kids."
I handed off the camera this week to whoever was around (that means once Patrick and once Andrew) and this is what they came up with:
Which makes me laugh, because the photo composition is definitely not the best, but who cares right?
I started looking back at some of the photos from childhood and I love the few photos of my mom. I love seeing her doing the same things I am now...every day mothering. She looks so beautiful to me.
I'm going to try to be better at "getting in the picture". No matter what, no excuses: makeup-less, fat pants or not, the dark roots showing, under eye circles not covered-I have to let that go because it's ALL-the good AND the not so good-a reflection of my life.
