A Day Off
Jeff had yesterday off work and boy was I thankful because that meant I had a chance to accomplish things like laundry and vacuuming with TWO of my hands, instead of just one. Patrick had some good one-on-one time with his dad. And we bought take-out for lunch. And he held Janey while I ate. And we both finished a couple of things on our to-do lists. I said, "Can you imagine if you had a day off once a week, how great that would be?" And he said, "I would drive you crazy!" Which may or may not be true, but yesterday it was just what I needed.

Such bliss to having a helping hand.
ReplyDeleteI live for when hubby has a day off. I'm already planning the next holiday break.
ReplyDeleteMy husband came home ONE hour early one day last week and we all (me, the 7yr old, 5 yr old, 3 yr old and 3 week old) about jumped out of our seats!! It was grand!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great day!
wish i could hold baby janey for you for a while :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a day off from your children. Husbands are a blessing especially if they help you with kids and around the house. That's heaven sent.

Yay for getting to use two hands!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteI am not the right person to comment on this since my husband has been 'working' from home for 6 months straight.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm so glad that day off worked out well for you!!! :) You deserve the help.
So glad his day off was a good day for both of you! The photo of him holding Janey is so sweet--one of those everyday pictures you'll be so glad you have!
ReplyDeleteLove this.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of something I read the other day, which said "TGIF! Oh wait, I'm a mom." To which I thought, "yes, but on Saturday I have DADDY around!!" Bliss!
ReplyDeleteI can so relate to this! My hip hasn't hurt in 5 years, and today I noticed it again. I realized I have a baby on my hip again all day :)) Oh but I love him so much it's worth all the aches in the world:)) But when Daddy's home it's definitely a nice little break.
ReplyDeleteYippee! (I completely understand!) :)
