1. Did you watch the debate on Wednesday evening? I did, only because I was bouncing on the exercise ball with burpy Janey in my arms and because there was nothing else on. But I only watched about 15 minutes of it. Debates make me nervous and anxious. I know there are debate teams in high school and college and some people consider debating on a stage in front of others great fun- a game or contest in fact with points and trophies. But it makes my stomach flip flop just watching it. The girl in me is afraid a fight will break out, or someone's feelings will be hurt. The mom in me just wants to say, "Ok, that's enough of that. Both of you, outside, NOW. Find something to do besides bug each other. OUT!"
Janey wasn't a big fan either. We both just gave up and went to bed.
2. Caring for an infant is a ton of work. It's like I am just discovering this factoid. For the sixth time. Just like I discovered it once for the fifth time, and the fourth time and the third time and the second time and most definitely for the first time. But of course the smell of a baby's neck alone is worth it. I think that scent has some underlying super power agent to make you forget all the work.
3. Next week the kid's evening practice schedule frees up considerably. I can't wait.
