Good and Tired

Jeff has been getting the younger ones to participate in a good ol' P-90X workout after dinner.
Thank God for my nice husband because it affords me some time to sit down or clean up without someone underfoot.
And better yet they are exhausted afterwards and bedtime is a breeze.

  1. My husband does a similar workout with my boys with "The Biggest Loser" Wii game. He also will take over at night because of some health problems I am having. It is wonderful to be married to such a good man!

  2. We just bought a trampoline and my hubby has been out jumping with the kids after dinner every night. Bedtime has been awesome because of it! Good luck with the home stretch of your pregnancy!

  4. ah, I'm envious - I am struggling this summer as my kids, especially my oldest who just turned 13, want to stay up later and later. Since I'm pretty strict about bedtime during the school year, I feel like I need to relax that during the summer, but I am finding myself exhausted. I've taken to laying in my middle guy's bed in the room he shares with my youngest and reading/napping, while the older ones watch tv and hang out...then they wake me up to tuck them in more often than not! My husband is less of a night owl than I am, but we both get up super early, so I think I'm going to have to get used to being perpetually tired through the teen years. Who knew that I'd the tiredness I felt when I had babies who didn't sleep through the night would be coming back as those babies become teens!!

I have to laugh at your comment about what goes on after 7:30. My mom was an early to bed person and I swear she still is surprised at the stories we tell of our late night escapades (altho late night was probably 10 pm back in the day)

  9. good husbands are literally priceless. My husband and I always find ourselves saying "parenting is a two person job" and it sooo is. There's no way I could do it alone. I am amazed at single moms. Thank you Lord, that we don't have to be.
    Bless you, Jeff!

  11. So thankful for your (and my) helpful husband. It is the best blessing ever to have a few moments to relax, especially with your little one on the way.

  12. Ok, I'm cracking up! I was just trying to find your blog because I think it is so "pretty". I know that is super weird but I've been admiring it for some time. I'm trying to work on my blog and have been since January when I ran across yours. I was just trying to find your again for my designer and then saw your post about p90X! I'm a Beachbody Coach and sell P90X! What a small world! I love that your hubby helps! Mine does, too, and I would be lost without him! Anyway, just thought I'd comment! :)

  13. It sounds like my house. I would love for you to do a post on your thoughts on having a baby in your 40's. There is never enough positive stuff to read. I have 4 gorgeous kids & at 42 it is now or never I think to have my last. I have a 16 year old son & everybody pretty much tells me I am mad for considering it, except for those who have done it, two being my closest friends. Thank you for your gorgeous blog I love it.
    Love Niki x

  14. Jeff is such a good husband! That is so funny (not while it was happening I'm sure...) about the car breaking down. I am amazed that I sleep through so much more than I used to. With the new work and summer schedule here we are going to bed before all the kids! I really feel like an old person! Having a musician in the house doesn't help - his hours can be as late as 4:00 AM! We stopped waiting up long ago and have a system with the hall light. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to the college kids' schedule....

  18. Three cheers for husbands!! I know that most days I would be completely lost without mine. And I don't have teenagers yet. Oh my word Sarah. I can't even imagine the late nights after the long days of taking care of toddlers. Have I told you before that you are my hero?
