Gardening is so much work! And I don't really know what I am doing...I just use the trial and error method of what works where. This year it seems things are finally filling in the way I have wanted them too....I heard once that the three year mark after planting is when things start to really reach full bloom and I sure think that is true.
Nothing is perfect around here of course...weeds grow quickly and this isn't the easiest year for me to pull them, although I am going to fight hard to not let those darn things win. If this baby doesn't come out with a stiff neck from being squished from me bending down to tend to flower beds (and of course pick up toys, shoes, socks, you name it inside) it will be small miracle.
(This year I am determined to taste some of my blackberries and raspberries...the past two years the kids have gotten to them before I've had a chance to try one!)
So pretty, Sarah! And so lush. I'm afraid lush isn't something that happens here in the dessert. Enjoy it for me!
ReplyDeleteAren't we blessed to live in a land where there is such variety in horticultural beauty? Amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love it all! Don't you just love perennials? I love container planting, but perennials are so fun to watch come back and get bigger every year. I LOVE your hostas too. Oh to be in a place where the soil is fertile again...here in KC it is solid clay. It is a lot of work get the ground in good condition. And did I mention the wind?? :) Love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful yard/gardens you have! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI WANT TO GARDEN!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut I am on month FIVE of Lyme disease...and sadly, I just LOOK at the beautiful greenery...the weeds I want to pull and the soil I am dying to dig my hands into..and I wonder "How many TICKS are in there???"
Too scared.
I will just have to admire from a distance!
Beautiful! It's like the secret garden - love all the greens.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is gorgeous! I wish my plants would grow like that.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and simple at the same time -
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love, love, love, love the brick walls. Are those roses in the first picture? I just planted some roses (Knockout variety) that look very similar - I hope they grow to be as big as yours! Very impressed that you are gardening at this stage of pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteI planted a garden this year. In las vegas that is not an easy thing to do....but things are GROWING! We have veggies and flowers and I love it. Granted they will burn up and die by July, but for now I am loving it! Gardening is one of my passions.
ReplyDeleteYour yard is beautiful! Love the giant ferns and hostas. Yes, our kiddos usually get to our blueberries before I can.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Everything is so green. Sigh, I wish we had endless green. No suck luck in AZ. Your yard is delicious. I love it♥
