Sunshine On My Shoulders
I took down my kitchen window treatments to allow the blinding sun to shine right into my eyeballs every afternoon and evening (well every afternoon and evening the sun actually shines) and boy does it feel good. It almost blinds me and can be a tad annoying but I love it. February can be a long month for moms of boys and moms who don't really like cold weather and moms who really really need sunlight and moms who think they'd be much better off living in sunny Arizona or California. ____________________________________________

There's a hint of spring in the air in England today. The sun is shining, and it definitely feels good.
I love sunshine. Sometimes this time of year is chilly in the house, here in Florida, but when I step outside on a gorgeous sunny day it's like getting a hug from mother nature, all cozy and warm with the sun on my back. I love it!
Visible sun beams are one of nature's wonders that make me feel God's warmth surround me. So peaceful!
that's the same time of day the sun shines through my kitchen window. :)
It's a little hard to see with the glare, but are there actually (gasp) things on your normally clean and empty counters? :)
I'm all of those things! Every year I vow not to let Feb bring me down....then down I slide. :)
Ha! I asked my husband to move me to Arizona or California just last week!
We had snow on Sunday (just for a little while) and 72 degrees and sunny yesterday. I live in Texas. We do have lots of sunny days but winter can be a little dreary. Think I will take your advice!
Sunny Arizona is like Heaven right now and like H***, in the summer! So dont feel too bad, we'll be jeleous of you soon.
Wanna swap houses? We're kinda over the 80* days here in AZ....I know it sounds bad and ungrateful. I just wish we had some weather here other than "sunny and warm," or "sunny and scorching." I like to curl up by a fire with some hot chocolate, and would love for my kids to experience snow!
I couldn't agree more. I can actually feel the change in my mood and behavior after Valentine's Day. It's quite a stretch we're in before the weather turns.
The grass is always greener. I'm struggling here in AZ, yes, it's beautiful this time of the year but the remainder of the year is torture for me.
Mother of two boys and another boy due soon living in NE. We've had such a mild winter, but boys are still bouncing off the walls so boy can I relate to this post.
I was googled "foods that boost serotonin" that other day--this goes right along with that.
Love the sunny kitchen sink shot.
I have very similar feelings about winter...I live in Utah and wish I did not (in the winter). I had my vitamin D checked last week and was found to be severely deficient...17 (normal 30-100) Proof that I need my Sunshine! good luck getting through, two more weeks of Feb.
My daughter is going to Arizona tomorrow..... on a plane.... by herself....... and it's going to be sunny and warm!
Oh, my! That is TOTALLY me!! I live in Utah and Ida crappy, cloudy, freezing, and gloomy from November to May. Bleh... I really do need to move to a perpetually sunny location! My family would like me more :).
Yes! I can totally relate to this post. Yesterday I took a walk through our yard and saw some tiny little shoots pushing out of the ground -- my perennials are ready for spring and so.am.I!
Love the new blog header!
I wish you could visit Sarah! I was thinking about that the other day. How a good dose of sunshine can cure about anything. You can't help but be happy when the weather is nice. Spring will be here before you know it! And your header is so darling. You come up with the cutest pictures. Your headers remind me of you - beautiful and simple - without a lot of fuss - perfect. :)
Well I am here in Sunny California (65 today) and although the weather is gorgeous, your neck of the woods looks a million times more charming and cozy and homey. Stick where you are. ;)
that picture practically blinds me! i love that! the sun is SO NECESSARY to get through these winter days.
hey sarah....everyone here at craft weekend this weekend LOVES you. they were all talking about how great your blog is. :) just wanted you to know. for reals.
Love that picture of the sun shining through. I find myself cherishing every bit of sun that we get here in dark New England.
Spring can't come soon enough.
I LOVE that picture. I love that light. And I love sunshine too...and I wish you could move right next door to me here in sun-land :)
Hearing you. I blow coverings wide open first thing in the morning and they don't close until past dark. I need light! Shall we plan a trip to CA?
